Honestly, i think you need to change your attitude of "nothing to lose" - to - "THEY have EVERYTHING to gain" and "I have all the talent, skill and necessary qualifications to DO - THIS - VERY JOB". make it ALL positive, not one ounce negative...saying you have nothing to lose means it's not that big of a deal and your giving yourself an "out" so you'll feel better IF you don't get the job. that's not right... you gotta go in there with a "I WANT THIS JOB AND YOU'RE GOING TO GIVE IT TO ME" attidude. All positive....they have everthing to gain by bringing you up the ladder, it's in their best interest as YOU know YOU can do the job that your interviewing for....

If they ask you weaknesses, go with a positive ("well, i do get a bit flustered when put on the spot - BUT - when i feel the heat coming on, i stop, take a breath, think and then speak and that helps me adjust to my surroundings" tells them that your taking a positive attitude/move to correction). go in with a "can win" attitude and just lay it on the line.. be who you are, talk about your professionalism and your longevity.. companies love that type of honesty.

but positve, all positive....and after 15 minutes of positively speaking of your talents, skills and successes, you'll feel how your achievements have made you who you are today and you'll win that interview with attitude alone. Even if you don't know how to do everything that the job entails, mention that you pick up things quickly and your not afraid of asking questions or taking up a new task...what job doesn't have a learning curve? none...if it didn't, you wouldn't be interviewing for it.

I had my interview turned to "you've got the job" within 1/2 hr of walking in the door. the rest of the hour was all me asking questions (knowing i already HAD the job) and BS. and all it took was knowing i knew i could do the job, i had the qualifications, i had the people skills, the talent and the skills to get the job done and they didn't know me from adam but the way i talked to them as if i did KNOW everything, i think, along with my can-do attitude made them believe that i would prevail, no matter the circumstance.

i didn't walk in there with a "nothing to lose" attitude, i walked in there with a "i WANT this job, this job is MINE" attitude because i knew it was simply perfect for the growth i needed career wise. It's a major learning curve for me but so far, i'm succeeding and surpassing even my own "beginning" expectations.

it's amazing how confidence can affect everything...you walk in, head held high because you KNOW your shit...you think before you answer any question unless it's an obvious answer and you say "i honestly am not sure, but i will find you the answer" if you're really not sure about something. Talk to them like regular people, answer the questions pointedly, no long stories or anything too verbose, just straight to the point, look them in the eye, be interested and be personable (you'll be working with these folks in the future).

Knock em dead girlie!!!

Hi everyone!
Thanks so much for thinking about me. Your positive vibes and advice must have worked! I think I did great on the interview! And to think, I wasn't even going to go through with it because of my fears.

I'm going to dinner with Nick (I need a drink!) so I'll add more later.

There were a lot of candidates for the job, so I have no idea what will happen. We'll see!
