Wisconsin required that. When I was on unemployement after 9/11 I had to keep a "log" of my job search for flight attendant jobs. That was pretty easy, since flight attendant jobs were few and far between at that point in time!

Wow, that sucks!

Luckily, when I was on it, we didn't have to do that. I just called "Marvin" and told him I didn't find anything yet, send me my check!

You should DEFINITELY hold out for a job that you'll really enjoy. You have the finances in the bank to take the time and be selective. Most of your collegues (from what I gather from your posts) won't be able to be as selective (btdt).

I think the hardest day for me, when I was layed off, was the next morning after my last day. It hit me really hard, that it was a weekday morning and I had no where to be!

You'll be o.k. though. You have lots of skills and any company you choose would be lucky to have you!!

OK, I still can't reach you by phone. I just want to let you know that a person can't "volunteer" at a for profit FBO and, if they work there, the unemployment compensation is reduced.

oh, i know... any job i take is a "job" and the benefits would be reduced.. it was a whim of an idea for the most part in trying to open my mind a bit and understand the realities of the situation

I have a much better idea of direction this morning and things have settled down quite well....time to get on with things, put this company behind me.

i must've slept good or something.. haha

Man, I need to start keeping up with this board! I'm so behind!

Wow Kristie, I'm sorry. To repeat what everyone else said, I know this will end up being for the best. I know you weren't really happy with your job (or at least the company), and you have some money saved for a cushion. Maybe now you can find something that will really satisfy you?

whoo hooo... got another interview this afternoon. This company, from what it sounds like, wants me pretty bad. I'll have to see what kind of negotiations i can pull.

good things off the bat... they're business casual AND have flex time. Benefits seem pretty good too.

only thing is that it's a small office (bout the same size as my old office) for another nationwide firm..but the firm is larger overall...

just still kinda worried about going into a small office again...

Just read the "news", sorry it has been several days late! Looks like you are getting good leads and interviews.

What about starting something on your own? Also I remember that you wanted to take some months off, do you plan to do that still?

Good luck!

I totally plan to do that.. the interview i went on yesterday needs someone pretty bad so i'm open to doing part-time as long as it's completely flexible with full time starting in Jan 08....

They know i have some personal agenda items that i don't want to get in the way of work, so i'm wondering, if i *did* do part time.. would that really affect "my" agenda?! The opportunity is pretty interesting, i'd be coming into the firm as the only actual "transportation planner" working on one major project they have right now building the dept as i go...
