Default Office Drama....Tell me yours

Ok,

So, we had another person put in his resignation last week (professional engineer guy's only been here for 3 months) and the office drama has gone WILD! the guy got berated by the CEO because "well, we paid for your move" and guy said "yes, under false pretenses of work that we would be able to get" truth be known, we have no work coming in and with the guys background, we would have never been able to get his type of work in the door, we're not his type of firm...that's how false pretenses fly here....so, then office manager is pissed at one of the employees for bringing up a communication problem a few weeks ago.. office manager got berated by CEO for that and now office manager is after the employee who brought up the problem...what did he do, you wonder? well, our receptionist left a month or so ago and moved to the company across the hall.. we ALL still go over and talk to her, she's a nice girl, just got too negative to work at our office... so office manager went to employee and told her she could no longer talk to ex-receptionist and that it was *really* in her best interest because they were thinking about suing ex-receptionist for "spreading rumors"...uh-yea...right...and how they gonna prove that lovely little nugget? rumors are flying rampant outside of our office because we have no work - we've won NO jobs since the beginning of the year and i'm now working on ALL unbillable work in which even my boss is asking me to give 5 hrs "of my own free time" to getting these project out of here (save the company $$ but i too lose $$)...but with little to no work coming in, if i do that, i'd be out of a job, left with no work and i'd be giving away what i consider a lot of time (which is valuable to me) and hard earned $$.

now, don't get me wrong.. i stay and do OT if the client requires it and when it's needed and most definitely when i have too much work on my plate, but that's not the case here. plus this company is horrible for giving even a simple "thanks".

anyways, our office manager and CEO have turned into the most unprofessional guys i've ever known and that this company has ever had and this place is going down fast with attitudes like that of these guys. we can't even recuit new employees from the valley anymore. we have to now go out of state or out of country believe it or not. they don't take responsibility, they don't fix the problems, they push the blame on others.. it's getting tiring hearing just how unprofessional they make "me" look since i too am part of the company (part of the team, as they so call it)...so, there's my drama-o-da-day.

the worst part is that i'm not quite sure there's anything i can do to help fix our office. i do my part by giving the client preferencial treatment, calling them back, behaving professionally and getting the job done on time, hopefully under budget.

so, what's your drama? is it better than mine?

I have found out the company I work for isn't all that great! I thought it was a great security system, but hearing people call in and complain about things that shouldn't go wrong, then finding out I can't do anything about it, is kinda discouraging. But I have found some of the ways around getting what you want when calling a call center. If anyone is planning on getting anything from a *certain* security company, let me know I'll tell you what to say to get it!haha. I guess I should have a little more loyalty, but when they are just so dumb with some of their rules that it just makes me not really care. I guess all places have that.

Not really office drama, just about the office in general I guess.

Office drama...
My office drama is slightly different than yours of course, but when you are raising one son and THREE daughters there is always drama in this house!

My house is literally a sea of packed boxes waiting for our upcoming move this weekend. The buyers home inspection has been completed and it was noted that we have a dirty air filter that MUST be replaced; goodness what is that a whole dollar? Apparently the upstairs toilet is flushing slowly and we MUST remedy that problem as well. Goodness...could that have anything to do with the fact that my darling potty training 3 old flushed a half a roll of toilet paper down the toilet 2 minutes before the inspector arrived. Should I mention that the poop missed the toilet entirely and a quick clean up of both floor and daughter was completed 30 seconds before the inspectors arrival. Oh yeah...it was only 8:45 am. Let the day begin!

here's my nice load of "office" drama !!!!!

Well lets just say that the Mortgage isn't booming as much as it was in the begining of the year ..
I work for a Lender as a Closer/Funder and I sit in a Broker's building (I'm employeed by the Lender not the broker )
Well I worked in the Main Broker office of our company for 2 years , then due to health issues and my 2 hour drive to work I requested to move to a closer branch to home. I was elated to move to this branch thats 3 min from my house ....well
When I moved in the office lights weren't on and there were four people working in there with their doors closed....it was a little spooky I thought. So I minded my own business and moved my things into my office and became very busy on my own..recieving packages at least 4 or 5 times day. Meantime my fellow broker employees are sitting in their offices playing solitare on their computers and giving me glares everytime I run around catching my phone, running to the fax machine, and using thier copy machine.
I was given some gossip by the company's computer guy that they were planning on shutting this branch down and I would have to move again!!!!
No one has approached me in this branch about them shutting this office down at all , but they are selling desks . Its so weird to me how quiet it is here and so dark..
I need to ask my boss about moving me somewhere else if its shutting down, I just don't want her to know the gossip that I heard from the IT guy..

Hmmm, office drama. There was plenty where I worked.

The company I worked for hired a bunch of new sales people that had never sold office furniture before. And on top of that, my time as their designer was taken out of their commission. I was paid a salary by the company, but the salespeople had to pay the company a certain amount of money/hour of my time on their projects. I had to keep times sheets of how much time I spent on each job.

Needless to say, they didn't want me doing too much on their projects and they tried to do alot of "my" work themselves. Well since they didn't know ANYTHING about office furniture (or how to read a tape measure) they screwed up huge jobs... BIG TIME! It cost them more to pay for their mistakes than it would have if they'd just let me do my job! It was hard to convince them of that, of course.

It cost the company money too! They lost so much business due to screwed up jobs and dishonest sales practices that the company was sold to their competitor (about 2 years after I left out of frustration).
