| Jetgirls Plus Member ![]() | The gym I go to has an indoor pool AND outdoor pool which almost makes the 100/mo (for both me and my boyfriend worth it) haha. I go through phases where I go all the time to the gym or I'm not going at all. Since I started a full time job, I never feel like going therefore my money is pretty much going to waste. Only worth it if you go...

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | If you are seriously thinking about joining a gym, try to find a place that you can pay per class, or that gives discounts depending on how many classes you buy. The only "gym" that I have ever belonged to is my Xpose Fitness class... it's exotic dancing for exercise, and it's a great workout. You only pay for the classes that you attend, and they also have a deal where you can pay $5 per class on Fridays. Anyway, I haven't been lately (I really need to get back into it, I miss it), but I'm not losing any money on it either!! I can understand the gym buddies thing, though - it helps keep you motivated. |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I have more motivation in a gym...I'm very competitive on the treadmill, and will see how long/fast i can outrun the person next too me...call me crazy...and i think it depends...i work out horribly with a gym buddy, even when G is there...I find the gym only has one purpose for me...to sweat...i don't mind chit chat...i just like to get done what i'm there for quickly, yet focused...so i will have to say that they are beneficial to me...

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I have a gym partner. Dh and I joined the gym together (19/mo for me and 12/mo for him) but he is never around when I want to go. One of the girls I played soccer with in college then joined. We go at least twice a week together, so it has really been helpful for me. |

| I have found that I really enjoy my membership. It is a time for me to spend on myself. It is also something my dh enjoys too...maybe you can join with yours and enjoy that time together. |

| GYM UPDATE : well I've tried out the "Mountainside Gym" in Surprise very nice even has a movie theater in it. Also if I joined this month it will be free child care for 18 months, no kids though the membership could be month to month at $36 or 18 months at $30 a month. Lots of classes and I'd have a gym partner there. tonight I have a pass to "health Nut" woman 's only gym...very small and very posh also in Surprise, AZ so we'll see how that goes. my two girlfriends live on opposite parts of AZ and can't be each others partner...I live in the middle so that makes me more feasable. DH can't join a GYM at this time, he's not returning until end of August and then we don't know what he schedule will be like thanks for all you inputs guys ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| I work out at curves and love it. for me its worth the money, but A. it on the way home, and B. I wanted to join, and went looking for it. If you are joining b/c your friends want you too, the chances are less likely that you are going to go. I had a trendmill and loved it. Exp when DS was llittle, that way I could squeez in a workout when ever I could. If there is doubt in your mind, I would say no its not worth it.

If you are looking at purchasing work out gear check craigslist.org first. It is very typical to find some really great things on this site for cheap! So if you aren't really sure if you would use gym equipment at home you could always locate something, see if you would use it and then resale it if you had to. Just a thought. | |
