Can't she try Wal-Mart and the $4 co-pay?

does she have health insurance? maybe she can get it upped such that it would cover behavioral health? there must be some way to make it easier for her to get the assistance she needs. different doctor, different perscription plan, whatever.

Target also has the $4 so does costco, but you just need to be sure that when you give them the prescription you ASK for the $4 generic brand.

GOOD LUCK

Yes, good luck with all of this.... I can only begin to imagine how frustrating all of this is, for you and for that poor girl.

Regarding your friend seeing a therapist, I know some actually have sliding scales for people with varying incomes. Even if she sees someone every other week or by a phone session, it would be worth investigating on her part. Also, sometimes insurance companies allow a certain number of sessions, etc. Maybe you could advise her to contact a representative from her insurance company..? They can possibly give her options that she may not realize. Either way, good luck, and I hope this all works out!

I agree with alli... there has to be something she can look into to get some kind of financial help. It's just awful to think that somebody can't afford medicine that could help them feel better..

I'd say you are a very good person for being there for this girl. It seems like (especially since you said she was suicidal) she could use a good friend. But sometimes people need to also help themselves too. There is no shame in therapy.

I know the pain of having to pay for medication. My birth control is a special one, so it is 60+ dollars per month. Luckily my boyfriend helps me in that department.. but still.. owch...

Roz, I can't thank you enough for that website. I sent it on to her and she said that her meds are on there! that's going to end up saving her a ton of $ and enable her to get back on and stay on her medication yay!

it's also helped a lot we're not working together day in and day out anymore - so that's a lot better not having to deal with all the emotional stress of trying to manage her life and mine.
