Default GOOD LORD....

ok.. I don't get ticked that often, but my sister just completely ticked me off.. so i gotta vent or it'll eat me alive...

The girls that are hosting kathy's baby shower sent invitations to the parents as well as all the friends etc (like your supposed to do)... which also meant that my dad would be getting one and i warned her that he might come because he's the kind of guy that likes a celebration and it's his first grandbaby and she said "he won't come, i'm just sending him the invitation so he knows where i'm registered". anyways, he got the invitation and told me he was REALLY looking forward to being there and celebrating with kathy and all that.. well, she calls him up last night and told him that the baby shower is "kinda a girls only thing"... so now he's been officially uninvited...he was pretty surprised that she would call him up and uninvite him.

he was really looking forward to it and that just really ticks me off because he's been thru SO much in the past how many years and needs some "happy" in his life...

how f*cking rude/selfish is that?! it's the first grandchild for my dad and the first "boy" back in the family since my bro died and i'm just f*cking pissed that she'd be as selfish as that to uninvite him because he's *OMG* a "MAN" ....

it's her party, so i'm not even going to mention it (altho i really feel like making her notice her selfishness) but GOOD GAWD i'm pissed!

OMG! That is just awful!

Rule #1 of invitations: Never invite to anyone who you really don't want to be there, no matter how unlikely it is that they'll be there.

Your poor dad, I hope his feelings aren't too hurt!

Oh no!! Forgive her, perhaps her hormones are clouding her judgement?? I would talk to her about it! I'd tell her to call up your dad and tell him she didn't mean to make it sound like she was uninviting him, but that she was worried he'd be embarrassed at all the girly talk about nipples and stretch marks and episiotomies and that she would LOVE to have him there but just wanted him to understand that you'll be able to smell the estrogen before you get through the door! How's that for a CYA? That's what I think she should do! And if she won't do that, can you maybe talk her into a party for family only that includes all male dads and grandpas and uncles and cousins, if there are any?? Especially with the loss of your brother, she should be doing something extra special to make your dad feel really cool about this event! Some dads don't even care!

That makes me so sad to hear about your dad! He sounds alot like my dad. My dad loves celebrations and is VERY into family. I cant imagine him experiencing something like that! :-(
