| I'm getting my hair done and quickly picking up some items for dinner because DH is coming home. He's had three overnights in San Juan and is into Cuban food (huh?). So, I'm cooking Cuban. Then we're off to an arts festival and home to cook Cuban. Sunday he's diving and I'm putting my feet up and reading a good book on my deck that is adorned with fabulous flowers and herbs! I hope he catches dinner! And it's not the weekend, but on Monday, after work, we have a gathering of our motorcycle club--the BMW eating and wrenching society. We gather to eat and socialize. | Jetgirls Ol' School Member | well, i'm going to end up working saturday and sunday 8-5...BUT G and I had a yard sale last weekend and made over $600!!! (on junk from like the 1970's) but anyhow, we sold practically everything and we decided to start our camping gear collection...I LOVE to camp...tents, sleeping bags, cast iron skillet, tin silverware, the whole works...and so we are going to camp out in our backyard!!! hahaha...I"m excited, I haven't been camping in years...it is no Colorado mountains, it is just the thought of finally camping! hahahah...and monday, is usually my off days, so we might do a little flying , or hopefully head up to Lake Norman (so, I can work on my tan!?! hahahah ) yeah right...cassie ![]()

| Admin/Owner ![]() | Doug just got home on Thursday night...So far, we've gone out for sushi, bought him a new macbook pro (he was waiting for the new hardware version to come out) and got my visa photos so i can start applying for my visa(s). It's been more of a "run errands" type of weekend so far...but i have gotten in a few asian pear sakitini's, some edamame and tonight we're going for Korean before meeting Amanda out in downtown scottsdale. The weekends go by so fast ..doug's leaving on monday to go home for a family funeral and then will be back prob wednesday, only to leave on friday/saturday for another round of Paris.I think i'm gonna try and go with before sending my passport in to get the africa visa (they say 5 day turnaround)...thought about sending for russian visa but doug applied for his 3 months ago and still hasn't gotten it, so ghana seemed more appropriate...plus it would mean i wouldn't have to miss the bucharest trip altho i haven't decided yet if i should still send in for russian visa considering loads are showing pretty darn high right now to get to anywhere...oh, the trials and tribulations! haha Enjoy the rest of your weekends!! Roz, i hope Charlie catches you some lobster...it does sound awfully good and you know we can't catch our own here, it's all frozen! haha btw... was he able to catch some for your anniversary? I haven't been camping in years.. i guess i've gotten snooty enough to where any sport is too expensive to get into...golf cubs and greens fees aren't cheap, ball games aren't cheap, camping stuff not cheap...i'm still pretty darn frugal enough that staying in doug's 4 or 5 star hotel room (company paid) is cheap enuff for me...ain't that a hoot? You'll have fun camping tho, the weather's perfect for it now (except here in the desert...fracking HOT, sweat just evaporates right off ya!)

| [quote=Kristie;35265] btw... was he able to catch some for your anniversary? /quote] Nope, but he called ahead. I went to Whole Foods and got some White Trout from Tennessee. We smoked it. It ROCKED! I made a roasted corn salad and an Asian slaw. Tonight we did churrasco since he's been south of the border so much. He said I outdid the local resaurants Thank you Whole Foods for providing a great skirt steak and great fresh stuff! |

| A grilled skirt steak with Chimichurri Sauce. I served it with a salad made from spicy baby greens and frisee, red onion, tomato, avocado, roasted bicolor corn and a wonderful dressing with shallots, garlic, sherry vinegar, lime juice, parsley, spicy basil, cilantro and olive oil. I'm experimenting, since service to Lima starts next week, with even more adventurous dishes. |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | this weekend i worked saturday morning and then flew to Burbank to see J. We went and saw Knocked Up on Saturday night- super funny, but now we're both afraid to get married and have kids! then went over to his coworker's house and hung out there for a bit. Sunday we went and did lunch with an old friend of mine and then just hung out in his apartment for most of the afternoon and went out downtown hollywood to meet up with some other people and went to a bar there that was actually pretty chill! He has to work this morning and i'm just hanging out but he should be home soon and we'll go grab some lunch before i have to go to the airport this afternoon. I'm really glad i sucked up the $$ and paid to come see him since he starts ground school on monday for xjet in houston and i won't get to see him for a while. |

He didn't bring a car with him , so he's at the mercy of the shuttle bus that only runs on weekdays. I took Kim's (eastbayk) idea and told him to ask the front desk for a frig in the room, he got it the first couple hours he was there ! Good luck, we're in this together girl ! ![]() | |
