Oooohhh....me, me....pick me!!! We're big runners here...5ks, half marathons, whole marathons. If you come down to Little Rock, you can hang out with our group. It is a blast!

Congrats on your 5k training! Keep us posted on how the race goes.

I'm pretty surprised with myself but I actually took time to go on the treadmill when I was in PHX this weekend. Today I ran 3 miles so I think I'm going to be ready for Wednesday. I'm a little nervous and I know I shouldn't be. My goal is to finish it in 39 minutes (about 13 min/mile). I know it's not great but I need a starting point for the next 5k! I'll let you know how I do!

Have you tried training outside? Because what I notice that the treadmill and concrete/asphalt/ground is entirely different. I'd try running/walking the actual course too, because that might give you a good idea what you're headed in too...

I think I wrote about this earlier.... I am running outside since it's not AZ weather. I have issues running on a treadmill!
I can't get to the course unfortunately because sort of far away. I looked it up online and thankfully it is a flat course in a residential neighborhood.

I need to get to bed... I was on thephone with a help desk for my computer probs and I am TIRED!!

Yep - I did one for cancer research last year. I was mega unfit beforehand, but built it up gradually with running in my local park and gym - and in the end, did it in 36 mins non-stop! Not great, but much better than I was expecting. You can do it!

Hi- My computer at home is having some problems so I wanted to jump on here at work for a minute!

My goal for the 5k was to finish the race without stopping and to beat 39 minutes.

The results are in (and posted online too!).
I completed the race without stopping- yeah!
My final time was 37:02! - yeah!
Of course my best friend finished in 25 minutes but she's in great shape and has longer legs.

I had a major issue with my ipod- it kept replaying 3 songs over and over! I had to pull my ipod arm band off in the middle of the race to fix it!

I'm going to do another one in a month to see if I can do better.

OMG. Seriously, I get tired thinking of that. I have always wanted to be able to run long distance, But I am NOT kidding, I get winded after 1/2 mile.

Amanda-

YEAH FOR YOU!!!!!!! I am so excited to see that you are running and sticking with it!! If you ever want to do a 5K in Texas, let me know and I will do it with you.

I just did a 1/2 marathon the end of May. But lately haven't been packing in that many miles.

Oh, and to the previous post about the running skirts.... they ROCK!! I highly recommend them. They are cure and comfy!
