I looked online last night for upcoming 5k runs and amazingly this run didn't come up. October would be perfect. (As it is breast cancer awareness month and a great target date for me to begin training). Thank you so much for the great idea. I, like many women today, have a personal tie to breast cancer. I have lost a grandmother and an aunt to breast cancer and have another aunt that has survived breast cancer. Perfect and thank you again!

When researching this site I found a link to a great line of women's running clothes. Running Skirts Official Website: Skirt, Skorts or Shorts? Try a Running Skirt I have run in shorts before and they kinda creep up on ya. Not fun! So I'm thinking these running skirts would solve this little problem and look kinda cute. If I have something dedicated to ONLY running- I am such a dork, but I find motivation in that. Plus these skirts have a little pocket designed to hold your ipod. ![]() Cute, cute, fun, fun!

That was Nick and my first unofficial "get-to-know-you-not quite-dating yet-date". He flew me to Sedona for lunch and then walked around and then we flew back. I had no idea it was so expensive- if I had known I would have put out. (I'm kidding there). ![]()

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | ![]() I can't even run a mile... even when I was a kid, I was never able to run an entire mile without slowing down to walk. That's an awesome way to get motivated... I give you sooooo much credit for doing the 5K. There's no chance that I'll ever do one! I need to find something to re-motivate myself. It should be the numbers creeping upwards on the scale!! ![]() |

| I have found that joining a group helps with the motivation, and they usually have a training schedule. Lots of groups work towards a common race goal so you can train together, then do the race together too, if you want. I've been a 'runner' off and on for several years. In two weeks I plan to run an 8km race. I've never run that far before, so it's going to be tough. Just go slow if you get tired, and take one minute walk breaks. Just a miniute of walking helps your body get more oxygen. Keep us posted on your progress. |

| I've never been a runner. Last year, however, I found the "Couch to 5K" running plan. It worked and I ran my first 5K last October! My time was a dreadful 39 minutes, but I didn't care because I never could have imagined I'd actually be capable of running 3.1 miles. I couldn't believe how quickly I progressed, and how much fun I had.Unfortunately, until recently I didn't run a bit after the 5K, and got very much out of shape. I'm doing the plan again, and I'm on day 1 of week 2. Check it out; it did wonders for me once, and I'm working on the second set of wonders! Cool Running :: The Couch-to-5K Running Plan Good luck. |
