I think I'd miss the "real" food, though. Or the variation, anyway.

Here's what I've been eating pretty religiously:

English muffin w/butter and jelly for breakfast

About 300-ish calories for lunch (Lean Cuisine or South Beach or Healthy Choice)

Regular dinner (usually a white meat with a ricey food and a vegetable)

220 calorie Smart Ones chocolate cake for dessert (yum!)

It's served me quite well! To LOSE the weight (before the maintaining stage) I walked 3.5 miles every morning in about 40-45 minutes and did the healthy eating stuff.

Three miles of fast-walking in Alabama ain't no joke, y'all!
HA! You and I do almost the exact same thing!

I do a kashi or southbeach 100-140 cal granola bar for breakfast (I can't eat in the morning, makes me feel sick).

Then I do the lean cuisine thing for lunch with a 60cal yogurt to kind of make it last through the 12 hour shift. I may have a bag of 100 cal popcorn for a snack later in the afternoon if I have time, or another 100 cal granola bar.

Then dinner is something small and white meat/rice/vegetablish.

I am a HUGE fan of the smartones desserts! They have a cookies/icecream thing that's 170 cals. AWESOME!

I lost 25lbs eating like this (about 1300 cals/day) with alot of exercise. The exercise has kind of gone downhill lately, but I'm still slowly losing weight regardless.

Yeah, the strawberry shortcake is good too. I think the keylime pie is the only one I don't buy, mainly because it's SMALL for the calorie value (compared to the other stuff).

I lost 15 lbs by just exercising 3x a week and cutting portion sizes. It seems simple, but I had tried everything else and they didn't work for me. In my experience, when there were rules to follow and counting and measuring, it was hard to keep up with. Also, try to cut out the calories consumed in drinks because they don't fill you up. Anyway, that is what worked for me. I went from 118 to 103. Adding exercise will make the lbs come off faster too... Good luck! Whatever you choose, just stick with it. You can do it!

Sweetie-I don't think you had 15 pounds to loose in the first place.

Thanks everyone for all of the wonderful ideas!! It sounds like everyone is cutting portions and working out. It is never difficult for me to start something, I just always have a hard time sticking with it. I get so pumped up about and then after a couple of weeks, I just lose interest.

It is difficult because I have always had a struggle with my weight. I weigh 150 now and am 5'6. Which is still a good weight for my age and height. I should be between 130 and 160. I wish I was closer to 130. When I was 18 I weighed around 200 and lost about 60 lbs. Since then it seems like I can't stay at one weight. I am either gaining or losing.

My moms side of the family have always had issues with their weight. So of course I inherited those genes. I wish sometimes that I would have had my dad's metabolism. He is about 6'3 and probably about 140 lbs. Of course my 2 older sisters took after him. They are both about the same height as me but about 20-30lbs less and have had children.

I still have a little over 3 months until my wedding so I am hoping in that amount of time I can lose a few more pounds before than. I will take the advice everyone has given. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply!!

I know it's hard to not let yourself have little indulgences, but just remind yourself of your goal, and it'sonly 3 months away, you can skip a few desserts for those 3 months, and then after that you can occasionaly have a few indulgences here and there. Maybe put a picture of your dress on the fridge or something, so you are reminded of your goal before you open the fridge! And remember, that much like money, one little slip up seems innocent enough, but those little things do add up!

i go with the "don't buy it" diet. i really don't have much self control and if there is junk food in the house, i will eat it. so as a result, i go grocery shopping when i'm not hungry, avoid the chip and cookie aisle and get a lot of fruit (still sweet but much better for you!) i like frozen grapes for the "crunch" factor and strawberries for the sweetness. i also am trying to cut out pop, but that's hard going because my roommates all drink it...

Has anyone tried/thought about Nutrisystem or Jenny Craig? I thought it would be kind of conducive with my work schedule and eating habits (I RARELY cook unless there's someone here besides me!)
