I was on a swim team too in high school... I don't know how many times I got NAILED during the breaststroke or somebody backing up to me brushing my feet.

Good job on keeping off the coke, Kristie.

I've done this thing where I eat as much as I want during lunch time and if I get hungry later, I'll only eat a little bit of food. What has happened is my stomach has shrank and I don't eat as much overall.

I usually eat more at lunch, and less at dinner, and I don't eat anything after dinner (usually 7 pm). I eat snacks in between each meal though.

I checked out the propel bottle in my car today, and you all are crazy. The mandarin orange one only has 20 calories for the whole bottle. I guess maybe for some of you thats too much, but compared to a 200+ calorie coke, its a good alternative for me.

yes, it's made a huge difference. I don't eat after dinner either, after 7. I warn you though, it is difficult.. for me anyway. It will be especially difficult when my boyfriend gets home to try to stay in my new eating habits.

Day 8:

Well, Day 7's pool plan didn't work. I didn't get home till it was too late to go to the pool and i was too tired to work out. i actually ended up going to bed at 10 (normally a midnight girl) and got some pretty good sleep. will definitely sleep better tonight with doug home for a day

I did go to the pool tonight and did a good 40 minutes in there. I need to figure out "how" to swim correctly tho and might take some lessons cuz i can just tell i'm not doing it right.. whenever i practice my stroke and add foot movement, my legs/feet tend to not propel themselves fast enough to stay afloat (if you know what i mean?)...but i get a great workout on my arms if i don't add foot power. I just know your not supposed to do it that way.

so doug came home and could definitely tell that i'm working out. I still can't really tell.. i can tell by some little things here and there (like chin etc) but other than that, nothing else feels all that different and i'm not up for buying a scale yet.

I started working on my portions today. I ate a pretty good sized dinner at lunch and ate something small for dinner (after going to the pool). that will take more getting used to than dropping my coca cola habit! haha

one thing i'm wondering though...everytime i get in the pool, half my head gets wet even with wearing a swim cap. so i go home, get in the shower and wash my hair... i'm kinda wondering if i should be washing my hair with just conditioner and not soap or should i be shampooing it up as well? my hairdresser has always told me i should not "clean" my hair everyday.. it doesn't mean you can't wash it/get it wet/condition it, just means don't shampoo it. now that i'm taking 2 showers like almost every other day, i wonder if i'm doing my hair disservice by shampooing it twice...so there's my "question of the day" haha

still caffeine free! no coffee, no coke.. doing good there!

work is crapping out...that's been typical for about 3 months now. i'm tired of all the negativity really... i'd love to just quit. found out our colorado springs office might close because all of those employees are looking for new jobs just like our ellsworth (kansas) office... apparently, our ceo doesn't think there's a problem. any idea on how to clue him in? probably can't...that's the sad thing.

plus i'm becoming really curious about how ESOP works and how to get info on the account information.. we heard thru the grapevine (rumot most likely) that the esop accounts (all 100% of it) might be in the ceo's name and not in the trustee's name and i don't know why that concerns me.. but it does. maybe it's a worry about nothing?

onto Day 9, what will it bring to the table?...

see, that's something that i really can't do because i don't get off work till at least 6:30..so eating dinner for me is around 7 or 8 literally.

but, i also don't eat breakfast till 9ish and don't eat lunch till i get really hungry around 2ish..so i think it probably evens itself out.

Yeah, everybody's schedule is different... I'm sure you'll find a way to work it out. At your job, what are your eating possibilities at 2?

All of your talk of swimming has inspired me to swim. I need to work out the rest of my body.. i've only been walking and doing sit ups every day. The only thing I'm afraid of is turning my blond hair into green but I'm sure it'll be just fine.

I have blond hair (used to be real but now it's from a box) and in the summer I use Loreal Kid's Swim and Sun shampoo after I come home from the pool. It really helped this summer, plus it's cheap!
