| Admin/Owner ![]() | Day 4: Doug was able to get home (positive space pass).. he said the boat was full and he was offered the JS but declined because it would have been to get another rev pax on and not a non-rev.. if it had been a non-rev, he would have taken the JS (yea..he's a meanie when it comes to rev pax but good for him!! i say!)...anyways, i stuck to my "no coke rule" had more water than i care to count but we did go out for a beer and hot wings cuz i had a not so great day at work (new guys know the full scenario at work and they're not sure they want to stay)..so it was beer time cuz i needed to chill. so out went the good eating and the exercise for the day but hubby was home, so it was worth it! Day 5: Well, doug left at 1pm to go back to ATL..yup, that's all the time he could spare, it's back to class for him in the morning. thank goodness for those PSP (postive space passes)...at least i got to see him for a few hours! ![]() it's about 3pm now and i just got done with 30 mins on the elliptical. he helped me get the feet adjusted so i could test the strength/endurance of the machine with where my feet are placed and see if it really is a posture problem when it comes to the front of my feet. i actually think it just might be that - a posture problem. cuz i ran on there nonstop (i can go NONSTOP on the elliptical now.. hard to believe it myself after only a few sessions) at a pretty good pace and only got some slight numbness in my left front foot...so it could have been where the elliptical shoes are placed or how straight i stand (am balanced). so far, so good on that!! at 5pm, the lap pool opens up, so i'll be going to get my pool fix in. i figure doug's not here, there's no reason not too..i need to get my ass to the pool as much as i can this weekend. so since i have no plans tonight (i thought doug would have been home longer - my bad), i'll probably go to the pool at 5, then give myself a little break and go back at 7 just to have some "fun". heck, i could clean house.. work on the website..do a garage sale tomorrow (community sale is tomorrow and i TOTALLY forgot about it) or go to the pool....hmmmmm..which sounds more fun! haha so i'm hoping to be able to get to the pool more than a few times this weekend... meet up with Molly and the PHX JGnet crew...clean my house/start the whole spring organizing...and work on the website.. how's that for a full weekend? we'll see.. i might just get lazy and decide to watch movies all day. that's fun too in an empty house where no one is barking about how boring soaps are! ![]() oh also went to the grocery store and picked up a bunch of those "on the go" drink packets. I got liptons and a few different crystal lights... so far, i've tried the raspberry crystal light and it's really good tasting but it has enough powder for 2 bottles of water. when you put it in only one bottle of water, it's kinda a little too much raspberry tasting and less water tasting kwim?! tonight for dinner, it's tofu panang with red/green bell peppers and an onion...yum!! still can't think about trying brown rice yet, i just like white rice a little too much!! ![]()

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I was hesitant on the brown rice, but it's really not that bad! I use the instant kind that takes like 10 minutes to cook, and I cook it w/ a chicken bullioun (sp?) cube. I like to top it w/ black beans, corn, chopped tomatoes, a little lime juice, some cayenne pepper and some grilled chicken. I also found some really good breads. One is called 9-grain, it has sunflower seeds, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, and whole grains. No eggs, no fats, no preservatives, no corn syrup. It's REALLY good toasted and sprayed with I can't believe it's not butter, sprinkled w/ garlic, and dipped in spaghetti sauce. I also use a bread made w/ Spelt flour. It's just a different part of the wheat shaft from what I understand. It tastes sort of inbetween wheat and white, not quite nutty, but not all the way white flavored. It only has 65 calories instead of the typical 120+ for a slice of bread. It's also made w/o eggs and stuff. Just spelt flour, yeast, water and salt. |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | I've actually bought and used Grandma Sycamore's bread before but i just didn't like the taste too much, it has SO much fiber in it that it just kinda tastes dry. so do those breads taste good without anything on them? that's hte big question.. haha Day 5 continued: Just about to try my hand at tofu panang in my new super duper 14" skillet. got 40 minutes of swimming out of the way and i'm seriously tired! I tried the conditioner in my hair (hair was dry then put conditioner on it) and then didn't wear the cap today. it worked ok but i get a bit worried about the chlorine in the blonde...so tomorrow, i'll probably put the conditioner in my hair AND wear a cap. oh and whoever invented those speedo earplugs did a crappy job of not providing instructions of how to put them in and keep them in. i just can't seem to get them to stay in. does anyone know if the airline foam type earplugs would work any better or would they just end up getting waterlogged?

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I haven't tried them w/o anything, I don't eat plain bread. I make sandwich's with it, or dip it in sauce. I make a really good veggie/ham 'wich, with provolone, mushrooms, tomato, cucumber (in long strips), broccoli sprouts, a little mayo and mustard, and ham. It goes really well w/ the 9 grain bread. Grandma Sycamore's bread is not healthy, it has corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, and other crap in it. At least the ones here do. You really have to look at the labels, even the breads that say "Healthy Grain" and things like that still have junk in them. |

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who reads the labels. My dh gets so annoyed with me sometimes. It's sad to see how much of our food contains corn syrup, hydrogenated oil etc. Very sad. After I had fat face hang up on my mom one night, I too decided to loss some weight. I cut out all dairy products and lost 10lbs in one month. I had a headache (from withdrawl) for 2 solid weeks, but in the end it was worth it. Best of luck, Jen | |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | Isn't dairy good for you? I've never heard of someone cutting out all dairy, only carbs, and I think even that is kinda crazy. I *try* to have a balanced diet with 40-30-30 of carbs, fat, protein. I know *how* to achieve my goal, I just don't do it. I did go work out yesterday though! I finally got motivated! I also went tanning at the tanning bed in our apartments. I figure if i go out in the sun with my pasty skin I'll look like a lobster, so I'm trying to get a base tan. I probably shouldn't get in the sun at all, but I haven't for the last 2 summers, and I'm only getting a tan this once, and only because we are here! |

| I had to cut out dairy products when I got massive calcium deposits that required surgery to remove them. Most western folks get their calcium from dairy. But that is really an inefficient source of calcium. The body absorbs a small percentage of the calcium injested via dairy--so you have to injest more to get what you need. And, it can be high in fat. Conversely, the body absorbs calcium from green leafy veggies very efficiently. So, if you eat your broccoli and just put lemon juice on it you will get a lot of calcium with no fat. As for tanning, just use one of the lotions that tan you in a week. They work just fine without the aging and cancer concerns! |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I love dairy. I am totally addicted to it. I actually upsets my stomach sometimes, but I love the taste of it. My biggest weakness is carbs, though. I was into long distance high intensity sports my whole life, so I had to carbo load like crazy. I ate that way for years, and find it extrememly difficult to cut the cabs. |
