| Jetgirls Member | Ha, ha... I am REALLY popular when I have to take the triplets in for well-baby visits and they get shots! Or, when they were newborns and had to bet billy draws all the time. Men would leave the room rather than see the preemies get blood draws. |

| Jetgirls Member | I'm in Pediatrics right now. The cool thing about nursing is you can choose to do anything you want! There are alot of things that I thought I would have trouble doing...but it becomes easier with time. I don't like giving babies shots either, but I KNOW that it keeps them healthy, so therefore I don't have a problem with it. And having people die (ESPECIALLY my kids) is so hard. But it makes it easier knowing that you were there for the family, and remained strong and a comfort for them before and after the passing of a loved one. If you want to talk more, send me a message or IM. I love recruiting new people to the profession! Lara |

| Jetgirls Member | I wanted to add more! Yeah, there ARE other parts of nursing! That's why I like it. If I get bored or frustrated where I am, I can always move to somewhere else. You don't have to be in a hospital, you can be literally ANYWHERE. Hugely flexible. They even have a program here at my hospital where you can take summers off to be with your kids, and still get paid (kind of like a teacher-type thing). Pretty much anything you want is open to you. |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | every single one of my aunts and cousins (females) are nurses... they LOVE it because of the non-monotonous day at work!

Also, for teaching, when you are in school do they teach you how to teach or do you just have to have a gift to be able to teach? I was training a girl at work today and I'm just so bad at trying to explain things. I also just wanted to get done because when I get done I leave, but if it takes forever to finish, then I have to stay til its done. I was just getting really frustrated with waiting and waiting for her to catch on. I hope teaching is different though, I sure would like those hours!

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | You take methods classes, and you practice in classrooms a lot. With an associates degree you are able to be a teachers aid, at least in illinois. I don't knwo the rules wehre you live. If you are interested in education you may want to see about tying that to try the field out. |

Thanks I'll do that. I'm also thinking about substituting, I need to check the requirements in FL, but we will be getting there so late in the school year I don't know if I will have a chance until next year. I'll still look into it though.
