I was thinking the SAME thing, and have been for the last few days! Luckily there are no Almond M&Ms at the checkout of the grocery. There is almond Snickers, though!!

the smarties sold in the US are more of a sugar sweet tart type of candy, not the M&M type candy sold in europe. At least, i can't find them here, so my freezer is chock full of them!

My sister is about to go to Germany, and I'm trying to convince her to bring back a suitcase of Mon Cheri's.

(I thought of these because you mentioned the candy there being different from the candy here. Stateside Mon Cheri's are awful.)

so the Mon Cheri's are different over here than there? interesting!!

I wonder what they have to do for them to be so different....

Like Guinness, stateside, Guinness is "ok" but in Ireland, it just tastes sooo different, more flavor, more body, more depth and is well worth the trip itself! haha

In Europe's Mon Cheri's, the liquid inside with the cherry is brandy. (Chocolate, cherry, and brandy - I mean...!!!!)

Here, it's some kind of sugary fake liquor crud in there with the cherry. Ick.

Yuck. That sounds nasty.

My BFF lives in Denmark and she always sends this little turtle chocolates. They're called Skillepadder and they're milk chocolate filled with rum cream.
DH doesn't enjoy them as much as me and the kids!
