| OK, I have a weird question... my sister and I were discussing a purse that used to be advertised on TV (many years ago) that had lots of pockets and storage areas, the keys snapped to the inside, etc. I'm pretty sure it had a specific name and it's really bugging me. Nothing critical but I thought if we put our collective heads together someone might remember and save me from my pondering. As an after thought... it would be fun to start a thread that discusses things from our childhood, favorite toys, etc. Speaking of, does anyone remember the name of the candy bar that was a foot long (it actually had a ruler printed on the wrapper) with chocolate covering caramel? It was shaped like a long twisty pretzel. Hmmm.... Nancy

| I remember the purse you are talking about but can't think of what it was called. Are you thinking of a Charleston Chew for the candy bar? |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | The Marathon Bar was a full eight inches of braided caramel covered in milk chocolate. Mars introduced it in 1973 and thanks to its bright-red package and extra long size, it stood out among the competition. Inch markings printed on the wrapper showed just how long it actually was. The length was the result of its braided shape but it didn't actually weigh more than standard candy bars of the time. When sales didn't meet expectations in 1981, Mars discontinued it. http://www.oldtimecandy.com/curly-wurly.htm |

| It so ironic that this topic came up. My twin sister and I were just trying to remember the name of a candy that we both enjoyed as kids. Maybe someone here will remember. We liked it so much we have been searching online for somewhere to order it but without the name it's been really hard to find. The best way I can describe it is that it reminded me of cotton candy balls. Kind of like puff candy. They came in mint, cherry, and butter flavors. It kind of just melted in your mouth. But the balls themselves were hard, it did not feel like cotton candy. Does anyone remember eating this? |

| Wow, that is totally unfamiliar. If you find out, let me know though. I'm curious. I had a favorite candy bar when I was a kid and I couldn't remember the name. It bugged me for days and one evening when I was bowling with my sister and her family, I was getting ready to throw the bowling ball and just blurted out "CHOCOLITE!". It just totally popped into my head. We still laugh about that. The other bowlers probably thought I had a screw loose.

| From what I can recall, you could find these puff candies in country stores, like old timey candy stores. I am absolutely driving myself nuts trying to remember ![]() |
