| Admin/Owner ![]() | I was gonna ask roz in the self-reliant thread about what kind of Volvo she has...and instead figured i'd start up a thread and ask all ya'll (is that right Amber? haha) so.. what do you have? I have a 2002 BMW X5 (steel gray) that i'm actually going to get rid of later this year (warranty ending and it hasn't been the best of cars). edit: i probably should have put doug's car down too... he drives a 94 pontiac grand am...i keep trying to talk him into getting a new car and he keeps saying all it's gonna do is sit in a parking lot, so he doesn't want one....

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | Pretty boring here, I have a 99 Camry in Grandpa Pewter (so NOT my choice of color!) At least it does have some nice stuff like leather/power seats, but I'd sure like something bigger. Not going to happen for a long time though. Poor dh has to drive an 85 Cressida. It's a nasty car. It's loud and makes lots of rattles and vibrations, the heater and a/c don't work, he put in a super fancy CD player that's so complicated I can't get it to work, it has those auto-seatbelts, I HATE those, and like every little thing on it is broken. I feel bad for him, but I also went w/ no car for 2 years and that royally sucks w/ kids at home, so he can deal!

| I have a red 2006 convertible turbo PT Cruiser and I love it. Loads of room in the back seat and trunk (most room of any of the 3 'verts I've owned) and it's so much fun to drive. |

My FIL sells em, I drive em, and DH flys em. It's a Big SAAb story. LOL DH drives a Pontiac Grand Prix.

| Bill's car is a '97 Grand Prix GTP. He bought it new when his old car (a 1988 Olds Delta 88) was stolen from the AA employee lot at ORD. Yes, stolen from the 'secure-area' employee-ONLY lot at ORD! It's been a good, reliable car. It's got a lot of miles now, but they're mostly all highway miles. My car is a 2003 Tahoe Z71. I heart it SO much! It's got leather seats, DVD player, XM radio, Bose speakers, off-road suspension package..... OMG it is just the cat's meow. Room for my double stroller, my single stroller, AND 5 bags of groceries in the back! The kids have plenty of room. It gets piss poor gas mileage, though it has the flex-fuel engine in it, so we use ethanol. We bought it at CarMax in Chicago (Feb '04), and I told Bill that if things ever got really bad and we got strapped for money, I'd rather lose the house than sell the truck. Things DID get bad (really bad) and we lost the house. But I still have my truck! ![]() |

| Sounds like the guys/pilots are more interested in their "wings", the "wheels" aren't so important. I laughed when I read this. My husband drives a 96 Dodge Stratus. He only puts about 60 miles a week on it. Usually just one round trip. He'll drive it until it dies. The family car is a 2006 Honda Odyssey. I love it! Our last family car was an Odyssey also. We'll be a minivan family for a while I think. Nancy

| I drive a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix and I have loved it, also. But, now that we are having a baby we will be getting a new car for me. The back seats in mine are really low (the car is pretty low to the ground, too), so I don't think it will work out too well for getting a car seat in/out. DH drives an Isuzu Vehi-cross (99). It is kind of weird looking and when DH picked me up for the frst date, I was worried at first (We met online so you never know!). He puts very few miles on it as well, so he will keep it for a long time. We also have two classic cars Steve has restored himself. The first is a 67 Corvette Sting Ray. It is beautiful but hardly spends anytime on the road. The second is a 59 Willys Jeep Surrey Gala. I saw Elvis's at Graceland and had to have one! His is pink with pink and white striped seats. I thought it was a custom job at first, but later found out it was an actual model used at resorts in the late 50's early 60's. We searched e-bay and found one in Cape Cod that DH bought for me as a wedding present and is still in the process of restoring. I wanted pink, but the original color on the car was a mint green, so we decided to go to the original. It is SO cute! |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I love my car! I have a Volvo 2004 v70 (2.5t...low pressure turbo). I LOVE it. I love the color, the seats (I LOVE the seats), the way it drives...basically I love my car DH drives my old Honda Accord (1998). My parents gave it to me after college. I had a 1996 Civic in college that they gave me when my dad decided a year later he wanted something bigger (and I needed a car for my student teaching). DH hates it, because it is not a manual. But he refuses to buy a new car since all he does is park it at the airport. He wants a Saab 9-5 Aero or Volvo R....he is all talk though. He has his old Volvo (1990 740 turbo) in our garage at the lake. He was trying to drop the transmission this summer so he could put a new clutch in and the transmission does not want to come out! We are hoping the transmission faries come this winter and we will find the transmission on the ground in the garage come spring! One can only hope right. He loves that stupid car (mostly because it is "pre-me"...he had it for a few months before we started dating in 1996). I think he wants to be buried in it. Maybe this summer he will be able to put his new clutch in....he loves projects! |
