As a teacher I stay as far as I can from myspace. Don't want any kids knowing me outside of school.

That's what private profiles are for! I had an issue with my family member reading some stuff that I wrote, so I had to make mine private. My best friend teaches HS english, but she still has a myspace page. Although I think that hers is probably private, too.
