No worries You just got me to jump in my seat a little bit. I think all of us are at our wits end with this stuff. I went and checked my info cause you got me a little worried about our job stability for a second. I have to have Jeff reassure me all the time of Piedmont's status and even still, I'm continually checking their website.

I will say this, the company that my dad worked for when I was little went on strike, and my dad crossed the line. I was in the middle of all of my hip surgeries, and we needed the money and the insurance. If he hadn't I wouldn't be able to walk today. To the day he retired he was marked as crossing the picket line and still some what harassed. But he did it so his 6 month old baby would someday walk. I have a hard time judging anyone until you walk a mile in their shoes.

I find this the harassment of the GJ pilots a little like the playground bully. how can they tell who were the one that went over from tsa. and how do they know why they made that choice? Do you know what their sistuation is? and so you really feel that you have the right to judge over someone elses decision? What happened to human compassion?

With that said, Danish, you and your family have made this choice. I hope its one that you can live with. no matter if we think it is right or wrong, your DH has put himself in a tough spot. I understand wanting to fly, and feed your family, but it has to be a mentaly taxing to have the industry so against you. I'm not sure if it was the right decision, given the reputation and hatered against the company. as far as your info being posted, I would check into the privacy laws. maybe it is reportable, it might not lead to anything but at least you tried.

for the record for the TSA guys, and others as well, I totaly agree that what TSA and the pilots that went to gojets was a scummy thing to do.

However I don't agree with the harassment of the pilots. in every field there is going to be some one who comes in an underbids, and there is always going to be someone who works for them. It happens in medical field I know it happens with the forest service and goverment jobs. But I have never heard of such on going harassment. (and I think I have been around the block a few times and not just fallen of the turnip truck).

I mean come on flipping people off as you walk through the airport, posting their personnel records, It doesn't sream proffessionalism! And do you not think the pax don't see you flip someone off as you walk by in your uniform? Do you not think that the gate adgent and ground crews don't know what is going on, and do you not think that don't share that info with their friends and family, and how the pilots have the "war" going on between them. At our hospital we have a saying "if a patient has a positive story they will tell 1 maybe two people, if they have a negative story they will tell 12, who will tell 12, and so on".

It seems to me that durning a time that our avation field is under such scrunity and with the media waiting to point out our every flaw on the evening news, that maybe its time we pull up our big boy pants and start taking the high road.

I agree with you on this, Janet, but at the same time, at a time that we're in now, don't you think that it would be nice if the whole industry could pull together and care about eachother? -- obviously management could care less what happens to the pilots as we've seen in this type of situation -- but wouldn't it be nice if the pilots could at least look out for eachother? Would your husband turn his back on the pilots at skywest that he's flown with? It just doesn't seem right to me. I also don't agree with the constant scrutiny and harassment, but I kinda feel like you're asking the wrong people to take the high road here.

If people would not be willing to work for places like GoJets, there would not be any such company. But unfortunately, some pilots seem to be their own worst enemy and just don't get it.

Those that choose to work at places like that, or that are scabs, do so knowing the consequences. Their short term gain hurts the majority of their peers, including themselves, in the long run. If you choose to participate in those actions then you better be prepared to be shunned by your peers. Maybe someday,knowing there will be constant scrutiny and a blackmark on your record will be able to stop people from making these poor choices.

There is some controversy going on at CAL. Management wants pilots to volunteer to work on their days off for 150% of their pay. OK sounds good, but they are also planning upcoming furloughs. If they weren't planning furloughs and they needed to do this due to some irregular ops every once in a while, then hey, go for the money! You have a lot of bills to pay and the money sounds nice. But then you think, hmmm, if I volunteer to to work on my days off, it shows the company they can run the schedule with less pilots. In turn they decide to furlough more people. So they try to run the schedule with less pilots and in a couple of months you end up getting 12 days off a month all the time instead of 16 days off you were able to get before they furloughed people. So in the long run, you are screwing yourself and your peers for your short term monetary gain. Just an example that is not as drastic as the GoJets debacle, but shows how individual actions can effect the lives of others (and yourself) in the long run.

I would expect my husband to be upset, and i would expect my husband to stand by his peers, skywest or other airline, I would expect my husband not to work for a company like that...BUT I would NOT expect my husband to harass others because of their lack of morals.

I think those that feel that they have the "right" to harass someone is putting themselves on a very high horse, that may well buck them off someday, and when that happens, and they are on the low rung of the ladder and someone shows them compassion. I hope that it hits them like a ton of bricks, that they were once in a position to show someone the same kind of respect, and they chose not to. Just because some pilot has very low standards, does that mean you want to lower yours just to "put him in his place"

I would have much greater respect for the pilot who conducts himself with dingity in a difficult sistuation, than one who flips off a gojet pilot as he walks thru the airport.

you can't control other people's choices, you can't stop pilots from flying for them, you can however choose how you conduct yourself.

being angry, not liking a company, not liking the pilots who work for them, is fine. harassment is not.

I totally agree with all of that - I thought you were disagreeing with the fact that it was wrong to say that these pilots are wrong in this situation. I totally agree that the harrasment is ridiculous and petty and really stupid...but at the same time, so is the behaviour that is going on at gojets. It goes hand in hand. I don't ever think that it is right to treat someone with that type of disrespect, but I think it's mutual in this situation...the pilots at gojets might not be physically flipping off the other pilots, but figuratively, they are.

Just a quick update..........he started the training class, and dh is the one pilot with low time. The others are all furloughed from major carriers with really high time. If guys from the majors are ok w/ being at gojet (and they know the story behind the tsa gojet war), then I'm supporting dh. That being said, I think it might be best that I take a break from this forum, as I do not agree with anybody (directly or indirectly) calling dh a scab, scum, etc. Thanks.

That's a loss for all of us--your opinion is valued, wrong or right.

I am so totally against anyone who is such a bigot (re: dissing any individual for a group fault) I can only believe that karma will appropriately recognize that sort of behavior and pay it back in kind.
