| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | This year will be the last year that I file as single I believe. I'm still waiting to file mine. My parents have claimed me the last few years since I was still a full time student, which is true for half of this year as well. I have to wait for them to take care of theirs to figure out how I am filing. Oh joy. |

| Flygirl813126 - True unless the amount of money your parents gave you amounted to less than 50% of all your money for the year. My folks didn't pay for my last year of school and housing. As an example, my folks covered my spring semester (2003), housing and food expenses. In May I was cut off, so I covered my food, housing and school for summer and fall semesters (2003). I was able to get lots of money back, but my parents couldn't claim me. I figured, I get to take the credit so I could pay for my last Spring semester (2004). Your circumstanes may be better with your parents claiming you. Last edited by trigeek; 02-09-2006 at 10:09 AM. |
