| I do miss Eric this week, but I'm doing much better about keeping busy and not letting myself get lonely/depressed. I'm keeping busy with Christmas stuff and other projects. |

| I relate to everything you are saying. It is hard having my DH(Steve) away. We have only been married since July & although we had already lived together for a year, it has been hard to adjust since being married. I worry just a bit more & although I feel a bit more responsible for taking care of things around the house, do not feel any more qualified to do so. Steve was home over the weekend and the drain for the washer in the basement overflowed leaving a couple of inches of water standing. He went downstairs & had it fixed in no time. I told him that if he hadn't been there, I would not have known what to do & we went through the problem-solving process. I did eventually get the OK to just call a plumber. It is just the little things that are difficult to deal with--the ones that with time will seem minimal. I find myself peeking into the future to see myself raising the kids practically alone. I talked to Steve's sister about this and she reassured me that that is what family is for. We are fortunate enough to have both our families in town and that is helpful. But, at the same time, sometimes you do need someone who is not family to talk about things with. I have many friends in the area since I grew up here & try to catch up with someone I haven't seen in awhile when he goes out of town. I am also working on my master's which makes the weekdays busier and go by faster. I am also looking for new activities and/or ways of meeting people. I think I am going to start with the gym since it is both satisfying and beneficial. |
