| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I just read that too on Yahoo when I went to check my email. It was updated 22 minutes ago when I read it, so I hope they have landing safely by now. That is so scary. Here is the link to the yahoo news http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20050922/...nes_jetblue_dc |

| It was all live on TV. The crew did an awesome job. There were just some sparks, the gear stayed at the 90 degrees and they stopped on the runway. Doesn't look like any problems, thank goodness. |

| The worst thing that could have happened would be that the nose gear would have collasped, and there may be some sparks. Really, not that big a deal. They did a great job. Must have been Hella boring driving around up there for 3 hours burning fuel. |

| I guess this exact thing with the nosegear turning like that has happened before on the Airbus. My brother is mechanic for JetBlue (furloughed UAL) and said he saw the same thing happen on 2 UAL planes, 1 HP plane, and this is actually thes second time on JetBlue. I asked him how the heck the gear could turn like that and he said it is an installation error. The pilots still did a great job. |
