[/ QUOTE ] Wow - for my BF to get flights like that it would take serious seniority!! (He only gets them when someone calls in sick)...I don't know how it is flying out of the US on Intl trips but my fella gets 13 day trips that go Fly into SE Asia: 30hr layover Asia to UK: 2 day layover UK to Asia: 30hr layover Asia to UK: 2 day layover UK to Asia: 30 hr layover Fly back home Miserable |

[/ QUOTE ]his seniority has increased enough that he is able to get all the weekends off and do 4 day on, 3 day off type trips... i like that he gets the weekends, but the pain in the rear is that he's working 4 days - some of which are commutable, some of which aren't.. so the opportunity for us to actually travel together after a trip are few and far between. figure he works 4 days and if we want to go on a trip, it takes his 3 days off.. then he's right back in there on a 4 day trip - so it's almost like he really gets NO break... so we're trying to get his schedule to work out a bit better.. he still wants the weekends offk, but i'm thinking if he were to work one weekned a month or so, then maybe he could get a couple of longer weekends so we can go somewhere/do something AND he would get some *home* time. you can only do what you're able to work with in this industry and it's all about the finagling! [/ QUOTE ] Yup...although I'm toying with a suprise visit to Singapore this weekend..It means taking a day and a half off work, but its already been nearly a month since I saw him last and could well be the end of July before I get the chance again! |

I've asked him to compile his top 10 of what's important to what's least important and I'll post it as soon as i get them from him. |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | Heh, I suppose I should start learning how all this works...John will hopefully be heading to the regionals in a year or so! He's got his commercial checkride scheduled for Friday and his multi checkride scheduled for Wed! |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | He's at Skymates and he's finally starting to get to the pace we both expected him to be at. His instructor went on a cruise for a week right after John got there and he was using another instructor (a substitute if you will) and this substitute instructor seemed as though he could care less about John and his flying and goals and whatnot, so John feels like he more or less wasted a whole week while his original CFI was gone. Now he's back though and John's flying like crazy. Good because I was getting that he went all the way to Texas and was sitting on his butt when he could be doing that in Michigan!
