I'll be right there with you come spring time. We aren't exactly sure when DH will be upgrading--i guess that will depend when the next perm bids are but we are guessing some time in the spring. it is such a trade-off: more money but less time together whereas right now we are fine financially and we get to see each other more. i'm sure everything will work out fine. this life is all about adjustments and changes isn't it?

yup, you got that right Dyane! my DH is trying to upgrade as well.. if anything, he wants to get on the ER line out of Atlanta but has decided that driving the same dog (MD 90)from SLC will work just fine too. he's high enough in seniority there where they'll probably be a change coming up and a good 3-6 weeks of training - yuck!

but if he doesn SLC, then he's definately closer to home which would be a nice change for him since ATL is a good 4 hr commute.

Default Look who\'s back

Hi Every one! Kristie, thank you sooo much for getting back on here, i think i tried three different passwords and finally the fourth one worked!

Married life is good, not that different since we lived together before,,,, except now he calls me his wife (which still has a really nice ring to it) and now he wears a ring.
We actually gave moving to ATL much consideration but decided against it once we went up there and looked for houses and decided that we like it better where we are now here in Orlando.

I have a new job now, Not working at Delta Connection Academy anymore, so things are really good. Things at the Academy were getting REALLY bad and from what I understand things are STILL getting worse.

Anyhow, I am back, I am alive and it's good to be here!! Anyone new that I've missed?

Doug's been at DL for about 8 years now.. an ER line is an international route flying to 767-ER planes and so forth.

glad to see you back on Jo - I was getting worried that something on your computer was funky!!

doesn't surprise me about DCA - over at Jetcareers, we're waiting for Patrick's 90 day stay to be over so he can talk a little more about what happened... but word over there is not good & seems like motivations are down quite a bit since that forum has been having some spurts where the "be good" stick has to come out! if they would just change their marketing and market honestly....but that's another thread/website all together! haha

not so much about showing the money.. but a different change in destinations for him and then i could possibly go with a little more often!

he's so bored being on the same domestic route trip after trip...He actually has a lot more seniority in SLC, so he'll probably transfer there first for a 9-12 month period, see how he likes it etc.. cuz he has years yet to go at DAL before retiring and if he's bored with the routes he has now, then i could just imagine him getting bored with flying over to europe consistently!

he says if not for the destinations and always having to go to atlanta, he'd love to stay on the MD 90.. he absolutely LOVES that plane!

how's it going for your new hubby Jo? is he starting to get some better schedules?

aw! Thanks for asking about hubby's schedule because every month, when the Bid award comes out I feel like it's christmas morning, getting ready to open a gift, and not knowing what to expect. He is for now bidding what is called "naps" They are 4 day trips. BUT the GREAT thing about naps are, they are easily commutable. Day one he signs in late usually between 9-10pm, with a departure time of 10-11 pm. He flies one leg from atl to say like Richmond (he is doing richmond alot this month) gets in usually around 11-1130pm gets 4 or 5 hours sleep for an early deoarture back to ATL the next morning. Usually around 6am. Thats why these trips are called naps,,,, thats all you get is a nap. I have done a few with him and its pretty rough.

So, day one he goes in late, day 2 and 3 he is gone, then day four he is on his way home back to MCO always by 9am, so even though its a 4 day trip,,,,it's never 4 days of work,,,like today, he got in to MCO at 10am,, and does not go back until thursday late afternoon, not as bad as I thought it would be,,, he has been able to hold these right our of training because no one likes them, but they work for us. I cant WAIT for him to get 3 on 4 off with the weekends,,, may be a while.

As for Doug, sounds like a great opportunity for him if his change of base works out. I could imagine him getting bored, because Bill says the same thing. It would be great for you to go along because it's one leg there,,,, layoever and one leg back,,,, you can go with him on trips like that with no problem. It will be a huge change of pace for Doug and a great opportunity to enjoy some awesome layovers!

Krisite-
I forgot to ask you? How are Doug's schedules lately? With his seniority, is he able to hold weekends off? DOes he normally do 4 on 3 off?
