| Yes it's ironic isn't it? A few years ago Mesa couldn't afford planes to fly for U. U had to buy them and lease them to Mesa through their leasing division. That's how U made money on the deal, despite the pay for departure arrangement. But... A month ago JO put out a press release saying he thought US Airways was going to go out of business and Mesa was searching for other options. Now, JO is willing to put up Mesa's operating cash to buy an airline that a month ago he thought was doomed. Which way is it JO? Is US Airways going out of business or is U a sound investment? Is he just blowing smoke since he knows he has to now put up equity to maintain the contract? He should have put up equity when his sweet deal was financed in the beginning--but that's U's fault, not his! And yes, it's sad isn't it? |
