just got word that apparently crew members are except from the "no liquid" phase as long as they're IN uniform... i wonder how that'll affect them while commuting?!

There's still a lot of confusion at various airports. Early in the day, DH had to gate check his bag to avoid confiscation of his toothpaste. They were going to confiscate a FA's spare set of contacts that were in a case with solution! DH just wants to be able to restock the bar during his San Juan layover tomorrow!

OH my gosh! I'm all for safety, but doesn't this whole thing seem like overkill? What are they going to do next? Ban on carry on items whatsoever? I read that soon cell phones, laptops, wristwatches, and anything else that had a battery that could generate a spark, will be banned. Someone please just take out all the bad people in the world so the rest of us can live normal lives! How do you like this restriction

Are you kidding me? I'd probably PUKE!

Bill was lucky enough to be doing a PBI turn out of BDL today. So he spent last night in BDL, and returned there today to overnight there again. They were confiscating crews' stuff at the time he went through this morning. The F/As checked their bags, and Bill and his CA were able to leave their toiletry kits with the station manager and pick them up when they got back.

Who knows what the rule will be tomorrow when the show up

Well shipping kinda defeats the 15% crew discount! I guess I'll have to figure out something else to do with all my mint since we can't make mojitos! He said gate checking worked out well, though.

Paul told me they could bring their (ExJet) stuff too as long as they are in uniform.

The poor IT director at my company was having a rough day today. We have a bunch of people in London. With the company's security rules, they can't just check their laptops due to security restrictions on the data - they had to pull a team together to encrypt and remove the drives from the machines over there. They'll be lucky if they get to bring even just the hard drives on board, I'm doubting it!

Is there anything left that a person CAN pack? I can't believe that about the breast milk...

Nick was just here Tues-Thursday when the restrictions began. He was worried his cologne and other things would be confiscated Friday when he flew back, but his roomie said that if he was in uniform he would be OK. Nick wasn't excited to have to weat hus uni, but nothing was taken.

His roomie had his eye stuff (i.e. saline solution) taken, and had to deal w/ dry eyes!
