|  DL Pilot Recall 8/28 As of 8/28/03 Delta will begin recalling 250 pilots starting Oct. 1 who were furloughed as a result of the drop in demand caused by the war in Iraq. Delta plans to complete the recall by the end of 2003, as the company anticipates passenger demand and scheduled capacity will return to planned, pre-war levels by then. After the recall, 1,060 pilots will remain on furlough. Delta regrets the need to furlough any employee, and will continue to focus its efforts on the financial recovery of the company. |
