LOL... not an animal fan, Mrs. 76? Or just not a fan of them on the plane...

I did my internship with Colgan Airlines in Boston and we would received seals from Bar Harbor, Maine. The orphans were sent to the Boston Aquarium. They were the cutest things and shipped in dog kennels.

My brother used to raise snakes [in our house] but I don't want to be on a plane with them! I like animals but I find the extent to which some people to treat them like children is way overboard. I fly a lot and I really do object to cabin animals (some two legged ones, for sure!!)

Maybe a sneezing passenger doesn't have a cold? Maybe that passenger is allergic to dogs, dander, fur...or pax with lot of after-shave or perfume--offensive is offensive.
Maybe we can't see or hear your dog but our sinus passages know your dog [cat, etc] is on the flight.
I rank animals in cabins with stinky shoes and dirty bare feet and any other smells or odors that offend other passengers (like I said, two- or four-legged). That's my opinion.

I have a related question about taking cabin pets--do you really pay the fee or sneak the pet onboard? What's your airline reg for limits/fees?
Delta limits 3 max (2front/1coach), connection carriers 1only, and fee is now $150 (had been $100 until fuel hikes)
PS--Hypo means low--not "none". What may not effect you can cause problems for others.

Regular passengers are to pay the fee to get the animal through security. In fact, we were about to bring a kitten back from Chicago, and the fee applied to me traveling non-rev, as well. However, we talked to TSA, and they said they'd allow DH to bring it through security. Whether or not it was going to be allowed on the plane (with him js-ing) would be up to the gate agent.

Personally, I have no problem with animals in the cabin. They've paid for them to be there, just like a stinky passenger has paid for his or her ticket. Nothing can be done. Surely, you don't have a problem with service animals, do you? Those have a legal right to be almost everywhere that you do. I bring this up because their dander is everywhere. And, those animals are never caged. Airlines are forbidden to make restictions on them... they could even be a service pig or horse. (This information was taken directly from a company Operation Manual.) As long as those animals are allowed, I don't think that anyone who has a problem with animals will have a leg to stand on. (Not saying you in particular, Mrs.767, Just mean in general.)

DL even specifies "service monkey"!!! The entertaining penguin might be a alot better in cabin than the "we've-all-had-to-sit-next-to-that-jerk" pax, right?
I have no issues for a necessary animal in the cabin--it's the "frivolous" pet owners and/or ones whose animals create difficulty/allergens. I can tell you they let them out of the carriers and much worse--how about taking the pet to the lav, then leaving their poop in the bin? Or noticing that the carrier bottom is yellow and wet? Sure, I want that near my handbag.
Maybe someone "loves" to take their pets with them on flights; I think it's discourteous and unsanitary to others. We can agree to disagree about cabin pets.
