| I noticed the ALPA communications kinda buried this as a snippit on a constiutional change-- Starting July 28, the ALPA Board of Directors will be voting on a change to the ALPA Constitution and By-Laws. If approved by two-thirds of the BOD, this change would make all pilot salary deferrals to 401(k) pension plans subject to dues. This would replace existing policy—currently pilot contributions to 401(k) plans are exempt from dues only if the 401(k) is the pilot’s only pension plan—and would both clarify ALPA policy and ensure that it applies consistently to members across the Association. The proposed revision was strongly endorsed by the Executive Council and Executive Board. Please watch this video outlining why this vote matters to all ALPA members. I guess they didn't want too many to focus on this. So, now they want dues on the money contributed to 401(k)'s from those without pension plans too! By the way, ALPA pays it's leaders far more than most unions--would you like to see their wages? |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | i know they make way too much, but i doubt others have a clue as to what the organization leaders make (on top of their pilot salaries)....This really concerns me as i hadn't heard this info before. I wonder if doug is even aware of it? seems very odd that they would consider retirement money, money that can be added to due tallies. I'm going with a No vote but honestly, i don't have a vote! wish i did as it does affect "the family" coffers.

| I read about this yesterday too and was a little confused. My main question was how can ALPA come to its members now and demand more money when the vast majority of our boys are looking at furloughs, downgrades, pay cuts, and benefit cuts. Sure sounds like the wrong time to put this into action. Why don't the ALPA leaders offer a pay cut from their substantial salaries? I have seen that list and for the life of me can't figure out how a travel planner within ALPA makes 110,000+. I need a new career!!! |

| Well, they lost the dues from US Airways, so they're looking for it elsewhere. For those who work for airlines with pensions, there is no change. But for those who only have the 401(k) it's a big change. It certainly impacts just about every single regional airline. |

| Yes, DH still has his ALG pension--they never turned that over to the Feds. But new hires post 2001 don't have it. So all who work for carriers without a pension will now have their full wages subjected to dues before the 401(k) deduction. It's just a BOD vote, so the membership has no say. Nice. |

| Utterly ridiculous, ALPA. A big NO vote from us if we even get a chance to vote. It's enough that ALPA dues come out of regular paychecks, bonus checks and Performance Plus checks. Now 401Ks??? Heck no!
