| Your industry is being hit especially hard with the cost of fuel, etc. I just got home from the grocery store: $5.29/lb hamburger (93% lean) CRAZY!! Not to mention the cost of fuel and what not. I am sorry that you all are having to go through this.... In healthcare, we are seeing it in our area as well. Co-pays $40. per vist and $200. for ER visits in some instances. Otherwise health insurance premiums are too high and people can't afford basic insurance. ![]() I am so frustrated... I don't feel like our government is doing enough in this situation. I am not one to want our government to rush in and save the day for every one BUT I am afraid of what is to come of our future, if something isn't done and done soon.... ![]() Somebody is making a lot of money somewhere..... ![]() |

| So now that $29 one-way tickets don't work in $146/barrel oil prices, when are these airlines going to raise ticket prices? Remember when flying used to be a luxury and people actually had to get dressed up to fly? It stuns me when I see the average joe pax walking through ATL with short shorts or their morning jammies on, no doubt holding their "cheap ticket." Enough whining on my part. Management of all these airlines need to wake up to reality and realize that passengers need to pony up the money to cover the fuel cost right now. NOT THE EMPLOYEES. I'm sick to my stomach with all of the pending/existing furloughs which is a direct result, in my opinion, of airline management not being proactive in passing the cost on to the consumer. Heck, Kroger and Publix have! I've seen the price hike in bread and milk...passengers should be seeing the price hike in tickets (and it should have been done a looooong time ago). ![]()

| Last year my parents bought a roundtrip ticket to Boston to visit us for 240 a ticket. This year a roundtrip to Cleveland cost them 440 each. So yes they have gone up. Although, Southwest is still doing some pretty good sales, for there "wanna get away program". And AirTran just announced furloughs but they are still having some good deals.

| Well I haven't really paid attention to airfares since I really don't need to. Delta/ASA/Skywest keeps me covered virtually anywhere I want to go. However, that being said, I hear ads on the radio here in ATL all the time for $99 or less all the way to the west coast. Quite often, even Delta will match anything Airtran puts out there. I'm just saying that in these times, the cost of the airfare needs to, at a minimum, cover the the fuel cost of getting Mr. Cheap Ticket from point A to point B. Obviously, it's not happening.

I don't understand how airlines price tickets its $700 roundtrip to Houston, but only $300 roundtrip to Chicago!!! ![]()

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I know what ya'll mean...I used to be able to fly into my hometown...BUT all airlines that used to fly into there, now don't!! So, going from CLT to ABQ used to cost me about $300, now I am looking at forking over $450/500!!! and that doesn't even get me into my hometown, I have to rent a car and drive 3 hrs! I can't afford to go home this summer because with my part-time job, that is like a months worth!
