| Jetgirls Member | Well, DH found out via email that it looks like AirTran might be furloughing 180 pilots. The good news is that the company hasn't made anything official and they haven't given 60 day notice of the furlough. Anything can change at any time, as we all know. We will be exploring alternative career paths for DH in the mean time... My prayers are with all of the other AirTran families out there and everyone else dealing with this rocky industry. |

| Another AirTran wife here . . . after 7 years of ups and downs (with Mesa until a year ago), DH is finally looking into other options, too. How long has your husband been with AirTran? Where on the list is he? If they furloughed 180, DH would barely survive it (and be back on reserve), but honestly, 180 is probably optimistic with oil prices only going up. It's very sad. |

| Oh this is horrible!! It just doesn't stop. I can't help but think if the retirement age never got changed to 65 a whole lot of younger guys would have jobs.

| It's another sad day. I see the WARN letter went out today--effective September 6th. They are planning to offer early outs to those with 5 years or more of service and possibly will offer voluntary furloughs. AirTran to shed 180 pilots, 300 flight attendants: report - MarketWatch |

| Jetgirls Member | Yep, we just heard about the letter today. Not good. We are meeting with my boss and her husband on Wednesday to review career options. I am so sad for him!! He, like all of your pilots, has worked so hard on this. Roz, did your husband make it? My DH is 2nd from the bottom, so no matter how many people take voluntary furlough, etc, he is definitely out. |

| I am truly sorry. If you need any help reviewing resumes, prepping for interviews, etc, I am always here to help. My DH does not work for them and, while he's ok where he is, he is actively looking elsewhere because he can. |

| Jetgirls Member | Woops, I think I meant SeminoleWife, sorry Roz! That would be great to have another set of eyes on his resume. We have a few aviation connections that we might try for corporate flying, but otherwise, it might be sales for FK. We shall see :-) |
