| Jetgirls Member | Thanks Roz and Cathy! Cathy, the state of the airlines has definitely gone through my mind. But this is kind of hard to pass up, Mesaba is one of the few airlines with a DTW base, and according to their website they have 75 DTW based openings. I do have my current career to fall back on, in case I do get the job and things don't work out. |

| Northwest has a DTW base and if you are looking to travel more than just MIdwest, this may be better way to go. also pay is much MUCH better if you plan to make it a long-term career |

| Jetgirls Member | Northwest would be the "ideal", however, they aren't hiring and with the state of the industry who knows when they will be. I was thinking try Mesaba for now, hopefully get hired, get some experience and when NWA starts hiring again, apply there. |

| Jetgirls Member | So I went to the open house today at Mesaba, it went as well as it possibly could. There were about 50 people there and I was one of about a dozen who were asked to stay and schedule an interview (next Wed.). I'm pretty excited!!! |

| Jetgirls Member | Hey girls, thanks for all the encouragement and well wishes. I've made the very difficult decision that the time is probably not right for a career change, especially into aviation I've decided to wait 6 months to a year to get some money saved. I'm going to need it to live on since I would be making 1/3 of my current salary, at least at first. I'm more than willing to take the pay cut, but I need more "just in case" money. I'm incredibly disappointed, I've been near tears all day, but I guess its what I have to do. But I'm keeping my goal, and it eventually will happen, just not now. Hopefully there will be some jobs out there when I'm ready. Thanks again, you guys have been great. Kelly |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I'm sorry you had to back out. But you might have faced more difficulties doing your job as effectively as you would want to if you were worried about the finances. Also, there is so much uncertainty in the industry now--better to wait it out. They might be hiring today and then furloughing a month later (or in new hire class). Hugs to you though. And it took great courage to get as far as you did! |
