i understand where you're coming from Roz....the kids coming out of the factories these days do have that "not a cloud in the sky" type attitude. reality is going to hit them like a brick, probably because they listened to the marketing instead of researching the backbone of the industry.

Alot of Jeff's friends from Purdue who graduated with him snubbed their noses at him for wanting to work for PDT - they all wanted the shiny jets, not the dinky old turbo props. PDT was even offering a 5,000 sign on bonus. -- now, they're all worried about losing their jobs, and wishing they chose PDT instead. Maybe we got lucky, but I think he chose PDT for a reason. I'm not saying it's impossible for him to lose his job, but sometimes you have to look at more than the surface and realize that things might not stay as pretty as they appear to be at first.

Thank you for understanding my point. It's really a small world. And the world gets even smaller in this industry.

So when you work for someone who is really well connected at CAL and blow them off (which he did--BIG time), fly for another local outfit that is well connected and blow them off too (which he did) and then go on to PSA beause "I would not be caught dead flying props for PDT; jets are the only way to go". Then when you don't even want to talk to anyone else who has a perspective on the industry; you don't really care about what is happening in the industry--your airline only has 27 on the street so that's not a big deal; rather you want to sit there and inflate your situation, tellling people that you work for mainline when you don't (DH never did when he worked for ALG)...

It's so sad...

Very sad. Like Kristie said, reality will hit like a ton of bricks. (Wish we had an emoticon of a smiley face hitting a brick wall.LoL...)

Just a quick update...........DH is on reserve now for GJ, and TSA is furloughing further. In this economy we are thankful that he has a job. Oddly enough, right after he finished training w/ GJ, I lost my job, and just started a new one after not getting anything going for the past few months. That being said, DH is working w/ furlougees from UA and other mainlines........all now at GJ. So, while GJ was created under shady circumstances, I still feel that current and/or new pilots shouldn't be treated the same as the ones that crossed lines.

Sorry to hear about your job too.

My DH happen to be on a flight about a month or so ago, w/ 2 mainline Midwest guys who just got furloughed and were interviewing with Gojet as well.....

I, honestly, cannot believe you would come on here TODAY of all days and try to present GoJet as a good company. The word on the street is that GoJet is going to be picking up CRJ-200's. That's right FIFTY SEATERS. Hmmmm... what does Trans States fly again???
You just said it yourself, TSA is furloughing while GoJet continues their push to hire. Why has the hiring never stopped?? OH RIGHT! Because they are STILL a shady company. This has never changed.
If this news of the CRJ's is true, do you know what it looks like will happen? Trans States will be forced to strike. Trans States Holdings will lock the pilot group out. GoJet will take all of the flying over.

You're right! AWESOME company. Thank GOD your husband works there.

GMAFB.
