Anyone read Bedford's memo??
Time to start preparing. No, the "F" word has not been said, but it will be coming.

Haven't had a chance yet. Did he give any indication of a time line? We have pretty much already mentally changed the "IF" to "WHEN", so time is our only question.

Jo, he doesn't say how many cause he isn't saying exactly that it is going to happen. I guess he doesn't want to start freaking people out. But from what the weekly letter said, I think it's soon.

quote: " While we don’t know how things
will play out, and let me repeat, we are not throwing in the towel on remarketing our aircraft, but
we do have to consider the unfortunate possibility that these aircraft may remain idle for an
extended period of time and as a result we will have to shrink the size of our business, in the near
term, as we work through the trough of this industry and economic cycle."

Bedford goes on and on. Who knows.

Eric is number 200 and some system wide. We just have so many friends that have either upgraded, bought homes, had babies or relocated.
<sigh> all part of the industry game I guess.

Woke hubby up to read and send me the memo (BTW, he wants me to tell you guys thank you from him for that )

It's pretty dim, isn't it? Bedford references the 17 E170's that have already lost flying due to Frontier. As Brenda quoted, he stresses that they are working on remarketing those aircraft but is somewhat grim on how successful that will be.

He also speculates that US Airways, United, and American may file for bankruptcy protection by the end of the year. And if they do, they will (spoken with confidance) cancel the Chautauqua contracts. He offers no "silver lining" on the upcoming/potential difficulties with Chautauqua flying.

So to me, that answers my timeline questions.

Hey ladies...just got off the phone with BF sitting in PHL...there was a captain that was jump seating on his flight, captain said that he heard 'letters' were going to be sent out and tossed out the number 500...he can't get onto a computer...anything on the site that is newsworthy??? Or at least true???
