| Jetgirls Member | DH heard the other day that AirTran will reduce flying hours down to 70/month in the Fall and have or will start asking for voluntary furloughs. No mandatory (sp?) furloughs yet. This may be old news...I hardly have a chance to get on the board anymore so forgive me if this is a repeat! ![]() Hang in there everyone!!

| Jetgirls Member | I know...you are actually the first person I thought of when he told me. Nothing is in stone yet and I believe nothing in this business until it happens. Just keep it in your thoughts as you plan. I don't know numbers but supposedly their goal is to not have any involuntary furloughs. ![]()

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I recently spoke w/ a friend of the family who is a FedEx FO. He said FedEx is currently using AirTran's approach, rather than furloughing a bunch of pilots and keeping the remainder ultra busy. Instead this method is a sort of "share the wealth" approach. He gets his minimum hours and welcomes it as an opportunity to be at home more w/ his family this summer. Btw, I flew AirTran to Ohio and back for a long weekend. Their 737s are super nice. Their 717s though left a lot to be desired. Overall their service was great and I'd definitely fly them again in a pinch when non-revving may not be a good idea or worth the stress. |
