Default US Airways furloughing too

US Air is now charging for beverages, and luggage. DH has vacation in September and now he actually wants to by tickets because non-reving is impossible. Ugh..this economy needs to turn around ASAP

It seems that most the major carriers will be charging because of the economy. Airline ticket prices will have to increase more in order to eliminate these new charges. It is really annoying. Its also frustrating when you have to buy tickets when you have travel benefits. One good thing about buying tickets is less stress though.

Maybe with all the price increases and extra fees people won't be traveling as much, except for business. So maybe it will be a good thing for us non revers! Trying to look at the positive! We are trying our luck non reving to MCO in September.

So far I've had lots of luck with my non-revving. I've only been bumped once (well off of two flights back to back - made for a long day!), but I have definitely noticed the increased loads this summer. I love tagging along on trips, so hopefully the increased prices and extra fees will discourage people from flying!

Gosh, I hear what you guys are saying,,, but I would MUCH rather see full flights than not,, if the flights arent full, the airlines cut back of schedules and when that happens our pilots may not have jobs,,, I know you guys dont want to see that happen,, but I hope the flights stay packed even if that mean I never get to non rev and lord knows I love my flight benies!

I'd say that I've been lucky almost all of the time... Except for my last attempt, during which I was number 71 on the sand-by list!!!! 71!!!!!!!!
