Nick was hired January 2007 so he may not be in the first group but you really don't know how fast it will happen. I'm hoping things will change and it WON'T happen!

| My understanding is that it is 3000 employees, it won't be 3000 pilots.

| Amanda...I am thinking of you...I think you have enough on your plate with looking for a house as well. This is no fun to start your first year of marriage under this stress. I know this is going to sound so cliche (sp??)but I do think it will make the two of you stronger and closer. Lot of Luck sent your way

Nick's been checking CAL forum a lot. It looks like starting in September they will furlough 150 pilots and then another 150 in October and November. Who knows though...

| My fingers are crossed for everyone. It's a scary time. Some of these guys, including my dh, have only flown for a living. It will be hard to find something else.

| Wow, with gas supposedly to reach $5 this summer, I don't know how or when these airlines are supposed to keep in business. Amanda- good to hear that Steve should be ok. Thats great news.

| Jetgirls Member | Did you guys notice that the top 2 execs are going to forego their pay for the year? That is extremely rare in this industry - it's remiscent of what the GM pres did (Can't think of his name right now). That floors me and says a lot about their leadership. Of course, the cynic in me wonders if they will also forego bonuses, which is what usually makes up the bulk of their salary. Regardless, I thought that was pretty cool. I will keep all of you in my prayers during this time. |
