Default Article about Mesa's woes

I sometimes have a hard time understand the nitty gritty of why these airlines are suffereing as they are (I get the high fuel cost). I thought this was an interesting article about Mesa's current woes.

The part I found especially interesting is about 1/3 aways down the page and says "The company has two convertible notes coming due, one for USD$38 million in June and another for USD$100 million in February, and bondholders have an option to make the company repurchase those notes, King said.
"The first one might not be the stake in the heart, but the second one would be," said King, adding that his analysis shows the company may have about USD$130 million in cash." That sheds a lot of light on what is going on (for me, at least) and may shed some light on what is and when it is to come for Mesa.

Mesa is having many issues right now.
J has an interview at a new airline tomorrow!
I will go more into detail in the next 2 days

Mesa has always had a ton of issues... it surprises me that people still interview to work there.

be sure to check out the breaking contract fees. Ask Amanda, I think that Nick went through it with them.

Heh heh- Mesa WILL come after you with lawyers for the training note you owe if you leave the company!

And Kristie- It doesn't matter about the bad rep of the company or the fact that they aren't doing well financially- there will always be pilots who need jobs and they will do what they have to in order to get a job. When Nick interviewed in 2003 it wasn't nearly this bad!

we know someone that quit Mesa WAY BEFORE the contract was up and they never went after him. ***Knock on wood***
James had an interview with Comair and got the job!
Mesa sent out e-mails to the bottom 400 on the seniority list stating that if the company lost the law suits that they would be furloughed. (WARN letter)
I am keeping my fingers crossed that they are still around for me to use the buddy pass! lol
