Default Interesting Allegiant Article

Interesting article about Allegiant's success. The article cites many reasons why the airline is doing so well but very near the picture on page two there is a quote "You're there when the business is good. You're there when you can make money" that I think says a lot about where the airline industry is going.

Allegiant: The Other Profitable U.S. Airline

This article also references Southwest's long term jet fuel contracts. Which I have heard about before but I have not heard about the length of their terms. Anybody have any insight on how long those contracts last?

WOW! $5-6 million for an MD80! That's a steal for an aircraft like that.

They definitely seem like a good business that has smartly exploited weaknesses in the system. Allegiant Air just started direct service b/t Monterey and Las Vegas. Like the CEO indicated, he'll probably keep that line open only as long as it makes business sense.

I believe the SWA fuel contracts are over soon, if not already expired.
