| Interesting article about Allegiant's success. The article cites many reasons why the airline is doing so well but very near the picture on page two there is a quote "You're there when the business is good. You're there when you can make money" that I think says a lot about where the airline industry is going. Allegiant: The Other Profitable U.S. Airline This article also references Southwest's long term jet fuel contracts. Which I have heard about before but I have not heard about the length of their terms. Anybody have any insight on how long those contracts last? |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | WOW! $5-6 million for an MD80! That's a steal for an aircraft like that. They definitely seem like a good business that has smartly exploited weaknesses in the system. Allegiant Air just started direct service b/t Monterey and Las Vegas. Like the CEO indicated, he'll probably keep that line open only as long as it makes business sense. |
