I was specifically told that SKYW is monitoring these forums... and as a result of information that was supposed to be on the "down low", but got disseminated on the pipe... all the reps had to sign a huge confidentiality agreement. Thus... restricting some of the information that they can actually share with us when we speak to them personally.

So... basically... because some folks who spoke personally with their reps got some sensitive information and decided to post it on here for all the world to see... now they (reps) are restricted to what they can say to those of us who actually get their "real" information from straight from their reps... vs. the pipe.

So... you can pretty much be assured that what is being said in here most definately will affect negotiations.

I'm not a super duper moderator that edits and delete's every little thing that comes up... mostly I only moderate things that folks post without thinking... like internal memo's, phone numbers, names, e-mail addresses, FIL's, etc. and I try to post answers to questions before some of the sharks respond with "read the Fu&%ing contract"... or "you're a tool for asking!".

That said... there are times... especially in the past few weeks... that I wish I had deleted some of the nonsense because I could see how it was negatively affecting our pilot group, our company, and our integrity.

But... alas... this is the pipe. I did not create it... but I do feel an obligation to say at this point... that boyracer, casey, mcpickle, and my union rep are right. We need to tone down the pipe a bit... and focus on getting our info. straight from the proper sources.

The thing is... I think most of our own group want things to go well for us. It's the general public outside of our pilot group that will most likely tend to be the instigators."

So, that is WHY. What is said here, there and everywhere can and most certainly DOES affect the proceedings with SKW and XJT.

If you need/want to discuss this more, take it to my email which is esitterley@gmail.com. It is secure and won't make its way to the internet.

Thanks
Erin

Interesting. I still maintain that information I know is nowhere near damaging for the company. I feel that asking how people feel about possible furloughs is not going to change the direction of the negotiations. The info posted on THIS forum (so different than the pipe) was all public, open information.

Also posted on the pipe on that same thread:

Minutes from SKW - ExpressJet BOD negotiations:

Chairman: "we don't think your latest proposal is adequate or fully represents the value of our company"

Atkin: "well I read on the crackpipe your pilots feel it's your only option"

Chairman: "now on the matter of scope....."

Atkin: "well I also read on the crackpipe that your U number pilots are more than willing to give up scope to keep their jobs"

Chairman: "ok, you got us, you guys win, the company is yours"

Atkin: "and tell all your pilots, before the deal goes through and we save them, they all must put their heads between their legs and kiss their own arses, and personally apologize to me for not being nice and appreciating all I've done for them"

Chairman: "ok"

Please tell me you're all kidding?

And one more thing, I have tremendous respect for our MEC and our management, but if either's case or arguement could be derailed or "soured" by SKW mentioning something they've read by some jerk (myself included) on the crackpipe, they need to brush up on their negotiating skills. I've been in boardrooms and participated in some tough negotiations, when you're opponent mentions something ridiculous, you call them on it and then proceed.

The CEO's, the union reps, the people high up in the decision making are educated, savvy businessmen and women who are smart enough not to take what they read on a public forum. It is highly paraniod to think what you say carries enough weight to change/solidify decisions. Also, the important info that isn't being relayed "because of public negotiations" as you say, probably wouldn't be relayed anyway. . .

That is where I stand and where I intend to stay.

I have to agree with ASL on that one. Even if SKW management is reading the pipe (or here), it's an anonomous message forum. They have no idea if the people commenting on the proposals or contracts or whatever actually are pilots or just random people who feel like throwing in their 2 cents.

seems like lots of people are talking rumors lately, so unless you hear it from "the man", i wouldn't take it word for word until the deal is done

i mean, to specify just how bad the rumors are getting, i heard one started up today about US Airways being the first major to go....now, honestly speaking, i don't think there's anyone out there (yet) that knows whether that's true or not.
