Make plans??? What is that?

Speaking of not being able to make plans....DH was going to get his medical next week. So I called his doctor and he said "sorry, I'm not in business anymore!"....ummm....you weren't going to tell your patients...so I spent all day yesterday trying to get an appointment with an AME on only 2 days this month (he needs it buy the end of the month)....there are only a handful in NH that do 1st class medicals...I had to finally call MA and found one that can take him on the 30th....Crazy, one said she could take him in July....yeah, we just found out our June schedule.....funny!

Man... I am not even that much of a plans person, but this is getting ridiculous... I just metioned some of these posts to my Hubby (who happens to be home with me for the first time in a long time) and he said, "I'm going to take you to a new level of not making plans!" He sure is...

Why? What we say about it has absolutely no bearing on the outcome. Even people on the crack pipe who are involved in the union are discussing it openly. I think discussion is important for all involved. Again, what we discuss (we meaning us and our husbands/boyfriends on the other board) will not change what happens to expressjet- good or bad. I am really having a hard time understanding why there is a problem discussing this? It's not like we are privy to any super-secret information... Our personal thoughts and opinions are just that. Those don't affect any of the outcomes. If I had that much power, I wouldn't be in the profession I am in....

ASLHands and all other XJT wives, girlfriends, interested others, etc:

Taken from "the Pipe" that XJT pilots like to chat on...

"In speaking with my Rep in ONT...

I was specifically told that SKYW is monitoring these forums... and as a result of information that was supposed to be on the "down low", but got disseminated on the pipe... all the reps had to sign a huge confidentiality agreement. Thus... restricting some of the information that they can actually share with us when we speak to them personally.

So... basically... because some folks who spoke personally with their reps got some sensitive information and decided to post it on here for all the world to see... now they (reps) are restricted to what they can say to those of us who actually get their "real" information from straight from their reps... vs. the pipe.

So... you can pretty much be assured that what is being said in here most definately will affect negotiations.

I'm not a super duper moderator that edits and delete's every little thing that comes up... mostly I only moderate things that folks post without thinking... like internal memo's, phone numbers, names, e-mail addresses, FIL's, etc. and I try to post answers to questions before some of the sharks respond with "read the Fu&%ing contract"... or "you're a tool for asking!".

That said... there are times... especially in the past few weeks... that I wish I had deleted some of the nonsense because I could see how it was negatively affecting our pilot group, our company, and our integrity.

But... alas... this is the pipe. I did not create it... but I do feel an obligation to say at this point... that boyracer, casey, mcpickle, and my union rep are right. We need to tone down the pipe a bit... and focus on getting our info. straight from the proper sources.

The thing is... I think most of our own group want things to go well for us. It's the general public outside of our pilot group that will most likely tend to be the instigators."

So, that is WHY. What is said here, there and everywhere can and most certainly DOES affect the proceedings with SKW and XJT.

If you need/want to discuss this more, take it to my email which is esitterley@gmail.com. It is secure and won't make its way to the internet.

Thanks
Erin

I saw that tonight too!! How crazy is it that the SKW MGMT are looking at the "pipe!" I hear they are in very serious negotiations this weekend and I am anxious to find out the end result. Very difficult times for the XJT family for sure. Thanks for posting the news!!

Actually, its not crazy at all. Mgt has a job to do, part of which is collecting as much information as possible. This is why its called "negotiating in public". It happens with each contract cycle, it happens when something important is going on. In WWII the admonishment was "loose lips sink ships". You never know who is listening, who is reading.

Wow this is pretty serious stuff. Everytime my husband talks about this issue I didnt seem to care since I dont know what's going on. I am a new member here and I feel for the families involved. Let's hope and pray for a good negotiation.
