| Hello! I've been wondering how the lines look like for other airlines and how they progress from regionals to major carriers, domestically and internationally -mostly the days on/ off and how long it takes to get one of those awesome lines with lots of days off. I know the industry isn't doing that great and there might be some stagnation at the moment.. Casey is on CA reserve now with Express Jet and his schedule has 11-12 days off - 6 on, 3 off or 5-4 on, 2 off. It's not that great, but I guess it could be worse. Thank you! |

| DH is a Skywest MKE CA and has been in MKE since March 1. His schedules in MKE have been 4 on 3 off. He is a little more than half way up for his seat in MKE. They are also really short CA's in MKE, so he can't drop anything unless someone else can pick it up for him. I don't know what kind of schedules the top CA's are getting in MKE. Prior to MKE, he was a ORD CA for a year. He was on reserve for the first month or two. He got one set of 4 days on and one set of 3 days off. The rest of the month was 5 days on, 2 days off. It sucked b/c he was commuting. ONce he got a line, for the most part, it was 4 days on, 3 off. Sometimes he had to work more and got less days off. Towards the end of is year in ORD, he wasn't all that much. He would have 4 days on and like 4-6 days off. But, at that time, they also had too many CA's in ORD. by the time he left ORD, he was maybe half way up (if that) the senority list for his seat in ORD. DH wants to be in DEN since we live here. If he were to get DEN right now, he would be on reserve and be the most junior CA in DEN. When he was an FO in DEN, some of the better schedules were 3 days on, 4 days off (he didn't get close to that kind of schedule by the time he upgraded). Not sure what good schedules are like in DEN now.

Sometimes he'll do 4 on 3 off or do 3 days followed by a 2, which is rare though since he commutes. The norm for him to be off is anywhere from 14 to 18 days off. Of course that also has to do with seniority.

At Continental he was on reserve for 1 month after he got hired and then has been able to hold a line ever since. He usually works 3 day trips and then is home 4-6 days in a row, although it varies slightly. He might have a 4 day trip here and there or more or less days off. We feel very fortunate about his schedule. When he was at Mesa I would see him only 3-4 days/month. My patience paid off. I was told "things get better" and they were right. With so many changes with the industry things will never stay consistent! We just try to go with the flow....

| Hello, my DH is a CA for ASA and he is currently working 5 on and 2 off. We have been doing this for one year now. Prior to that, he was working 4 on and 3 off. The end of the month is horrible. We only see him for one day during the last week into the new month, if that makes any sense! They have finally agreed to a contract as of the start of this year; their contract went up for negotiation when we were married in 2001, so we are beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel! Still, he is very sleep deprived. Things have been slow with the majors as we are experiencing difficulty moving up in the world from a regional air carrier. However; we just received great news: DH has an interview at Emirates next month! There seems to be more stability and profit with the airline. So far, everything we have heard has been positive. I still feel as if he is over-worked; especially towards the end of the month, and it makes things harder on everyone. But like you said, things could always be worse so we are thankful for what we have! |

| Dh is a CA for XJT out of IAH and he usually ends up with 4 on 3 off or sometimes 4 on 2 off. It could always be worse but it really stinks for commuting!
