Default Hubby sick on the "road"?

Just read an article in USA Today about walk in clinics opening in airports. What a great idea! I get a little nervous when hubby leaves with the beginnings of the crud. I remind him that the Minute Clinic and the Little Clinics have moved into CVS (and other drugstores) and Kroger all across the country. But now the walk in clinic concept is moving into the airport, too.

That's a great idea!! My DH has actually had to go to the ER (get himself in a cab, etc.) while on the road. I've also had to drive 3 hours from MI to IN to pick him up once because he was so sick he couldn't jumpseat.

I can relate to this only from the other perspective. I work for a hospital and often am in the ER. A woman approached me one day about how she could get her prescription filled. She explained that she was a pilot with a urinary tract infection and didn't want her crew to know about it. Boy was she in luck that day as DH was home and had just made some of his famous homemade soup AND was on his way over with it. With her permission, I told him what was going on and not only did he bring her soup but took her to the pharmacy and back to the hotel. I was so happy she took us up on it and that we could help. I would hope that if DH was in a similiar position, someone would do the same for him.

But, clinics in the airports are a GREAT idea!

There one open in the Atlanta airport. Jason pointed it out to me last time I was there.

There is a type of clinic in the EWR airport, Terminal C...though I cannot say if it is full service, but I know they were giving out flu shots and are available for minor things.
