Skybus is history!

Skybus is gone...it was just a matter of time

and that's extremely good news for the profession!! now to see what happens to Gojet (if anything) and what mergers start coming about!

here's the article....interesting how the header of the html page is "skybust".

Now, I really think these particular pilots are gonna have a HARD time finding a new job. I've heard recently that some training centers are putting names, previous jobs and other various information out in the open for feedback from employees for those who are interviewing and putting out the same information for those who get the job (for add'l feedback). sometimes i think it's childish...sometimes i think it's not a bad thing...i just can't seem to decide yet which of the two is more appropriate.

Just heard about that too.

My boyfriend predicts a lot of people are probably going to leave aviation completely.

I wouldn't doubt it...the road is a tough one to follow.

It sure is... just last month, everything was going relatively fine and airlines were hiring like crazy.. then BOOM.

Wow, 4 airlines no longer in operation in one week. This has been a crazy and scary week for the industry.

I seem to be freaking out more than the hubby. He is about to hit 500 hours and thinking about applying to airlines. Everything just seems so uncertain right now. Hoping for the best for the companies he is thinking about!

Yippee! Finally! BF and I have been watching and waiting on skybus for awhile now to shut their doors. It's so unfortunate for the employees who are now out of jobs, but it certainly is good for the industry.

Concept was a failing business plan (no way they could have actually succeeded) where the mgmt staff could take home some bank....and believe it or not, they did too..left the employees screwed but in all honesty, they should have known by simply looking at the business plan.
