My hubby only came back from 2 months in Amsterdam 10 days ago (and has been here there and everywhere since then but we've managed to go with him). The biggest help for us was us both having laptops and webcams and talking on Skype or msn messenger every night once we were done. We had some incredibly intimate conversations that we probably would never have had in person and we're actually feeling a lot closer for our time apart. We also had lots of fun getting naked with each other on webcam too, it brought a different experience to our life together that was really valuable. I'm really still worrying about adjusting to him working as a pilot and being out of contact with him for most of each day but I was dreading the 2 months apart so much and it turned out to have a really positive side. My daughter really struggled with it though, and as I get closer and closer to giving birth I'm getting much more sensitive to any seperation too.

| [quote=stellaandcorasmommy;53900][quote=jr_lenz;53702]The other thing they do is Lance carries R2D2 with him ( starwars is very big in out house) and takes pix of R2d2 working on the plane, at the hotel, ect.. and send them to us on the cell. Trady loves it. We have one at home and he takes pix to send to lance. Quote:

Thats a shame that its so hard to find time to chat I would find that very hard to deal with. Thankfully at the moment I am a SAHM with a daughter who isn't in school or anything so we're pretty free to follow DH most places (we spent some time out in Amsterdam with him while he was away) and change our schedules to fit round his. That won't be as easy in the coming weeks once this baby arrives but it will settle down again eventually. I'm considering myself very lucky reading all the threads on here, lots of you have it a lot harder than I do and I'm feeling much more capable of keeping going since finding this place.

...And I know that I have it easier than some people... Because of my job, it's not so hard for me to trade shifts and get some time off... and if I take 4 days vacation (or trade shifts), I get 12 days off in a row... and I managed to get 20 days off in a row... I can't wait! I know that I'll be bored quite a bit, but, hey, it's better than being home alone! It's so great that you get to go with your Hubby on trips! (Amsterdam sounds a bit cooler than St. Louis!) It's nice also that you can take your daughter with you... What a cool experience for her! How old is she?

How cool! I imagine that the same fate awaits my future child(ren). My dog already gets dragged along everywhere... thankfully, she loves to travel, too! ![]()
