My hubby's training for TSA (Trans States Airlines) in STL... Only 1 week to go until I get to go see him! Something to look forward to!

Awesome Sarah! I am hoping either I go visit this weekend, or he comes home for a day....thinking of that makes it easier!

We had "special" books, that they both had copies off so Lance could read the bed time story and T follow along with. Right now we have a memory jar...a place for T to write down the things he wants to talk about, that way when they are on they phone and the conversation gets slow T can pull out his jar and remember the things he wanted to talk about. The other thing they do is Lance carries R2D2 with him ( starwars is very big in out house) and takes pix of R2d2 working on the plane, at the hotel, ect.. and send them to us on the cell. Trady loves it. We have one at home and he takes pix to send to lance.

Oh one of our favorites when Lance was in Phoenix, is when we had a walk to dad contest. We logged all the miles we walked, ( I used the car to roughly guess the miles) and we made a map and marked how far we walked. In truth we never made it from Boise to Phoenix, but we had a great time getting out and trying. Plus everything you do to keep your mind off the negative and more on doing "something" helps!
WOW! What fabulous ideas! I'm definitely coming to you when I need good mommy ideas!!!

Yeah, that is very cute...I like that idea. I think I will have to put a stow away in his bag next time he goes away. Well, things are getting easier, I went through a rough few days, just with missing him and some really icky stuff going on at work...felt pretty on edge the past few days but am feeling much better about him being gone.

One thing I am sort of amazed about is the amount of changes that seem to be taking place with his training schedule...like, he is in Indy and then was going to go to St. Louis but now he might be going to Houston...it all is pretty up in the air. Not that it is an issue, but is this how it usually goes?

In our experience ... YES! Fiance started his Mesaba training in Minneapolis for the first weeks of ground school. Then we went to Montreal for 4 weeks of sim training at Bombardier. Then, 2 days away from his check ride, he was sent home. He waited at home for TWO MONTHS before they called him to report to Denver to finish his sim training. B/c of the amount of time that had elapsed he had to re-take his oral (he was pissed b/c he'd already done the oral in Montreal). And b/c of all the time that had elapsed, he needed several days in the sim to freshen up before his check ride. That whole situation was c-r-a-p!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure his case is an out lier. Mesaba was having all kinds of contractual issues w/ Bombardier during that time. Those training in the Saab, whose sims are in MSP, had no troubles like his. I hope your hubby's training is smooth sailing!!
