Default Contential plane off runway

Totally grapevine story, so I may be getting some of the details wrong. . .

Hubby took a plane late last night into Columbus airport. He said that just before he got there, on the "short" runway a Contential 737 plane had not been able to stop in the snow storm and slide off the end of the runway. He rode the employee bus with a maintace man that said they had tried to take the air stairs out to the plane but hadn' t been able to use them. When the maintance man left the folks were still on the plane.

Anybody heard about it? Was everyone ok? Anybody know how they got the folks off the plane? Hubby mentioned that there might be some reluncentance to use the slides because people can get hurt/hurt themselves on them.
