It sounds like the interview "we" attended last year. DH was offered the job so I am confident I did not go overboard with my attire if that helps. I wore a linen suit with a silk blouse under it and closed toe shoes. The suit was feminine yet conservative. I may be off base but if you are heading to Dubai and have any questions about what to expect please feel free to ask.

Yes, we're heading to Dubai. (I didn't say it right away, since we hadn't told some of our closest friends -- and I didn't want them to read it here.) But then again, it's not like they couldn't figure it out!!!!!! Thanks for everyone's input -- I have several options now. And I won't be wearing any open toe shoes. (Bummer) Jen

I haven't been to Dubai, but I know that in near by liberal muslim countries of Turkey and Jordan, skirts are fine, but they should be at least knee legnth... and I completely agree that the dress/shirt should have sleeves. I think that those Cuture Shock books offer a lot of good information. If you're serious about moving there, maybe you would find it helpful...

I thought the same thing before coming here. There is no need to cover your head unless, you want to. You will notice there are lots of women in Dubai that don't cover their head. You can carry a wrap with you if that makes you feel more comfortable but, you will find it is not necessary in most places.

I don't plan on covering myself. I would cover my head, arms, legs, etc. only if going to an older part of the city or to visit a mosque. But then again, if I'm having a really bad hair day, it's not a bad idea. Jen
