| Went on a trip with Hubby to St Criox. I went US Airways from Nashville to Charlotte. Met up with hubby in Charlotte. Together we went to San Jaun (on US Airways). From San Jaun to St Criox there is not many airlines that fly that route, only Cape Air and American Eagle. Hubby bought me ZED tickets in Columbus, OH to make the trip between San Jaun and St Criox. We got kinda nervous about the loads from San Jaun, so right before we left he tried to get me ZED tickets between St Thomas and St Criox. He was told by the employee travel person in Charlotte, that he couldn't buy or use ZED tickets before his six month annivarsary date (which at the time was only 3 days a way). She told him that it didn't matter that he had been sold the ZED tickets, that if he used them he could possibly loose his travel benefits. We ended up buying IED 90's for the trip. It was very startling that he had been allowed to buy the ZED tickets, but he wasn't supposed to. We were not trying to cheat or steal, we just didn't know. |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | IED 90 is really ID90, just so you know ![]() I'd call the pass bureau on monday and get the ZED fare thing confirmed... that doesn't sound right. they wouldn't have sold them to you if they didn't think you could use them. If you wouldn't have been able to by ZED fares, i wouldn't think you would have been able to buy ID90'd either...same type of thing, different fare cost.

| [quote=Kristie;47299]IED 90 is really ID90, just so you know ![]() You're correct. My face is red. I think that the different rules for ID 90 and ZED tickets are related to the different airlines. (Hubby flies for regional, so he has lots of different connections with several different airlines.) We were trying to purchase the Zed tickets from US Airways. We purchased the ID 90's from Delta. I think that the 6 month rules apply based on the airlines, not so much on the difference between the two benefits. Felly, my most basic understanding of the differences between ZED and ID 90's are that ZED's are for a set amount (ie $25 no matter where you are going) and ID 90's are discounts calculated on the cost of a regular ticket (ie if the regular fare is 600 and you get a 90% discount then you pay $60). I think that they are purchased on airline's that they employee has no direct working relationship with. (Well that is at least how and why we were purchasing them. Hubby's regional employor had no direct benefits related to the two main companies that flew between St Criox, St Thomas, and San Jaun.) Again, my understanding is very soft (I can't even get the name correct!!) I am sure there is some one out there better able to educate both of us, felly. |
