Default Missing plane.............

I'm at student at the University of North Dakota. I'm guessing some of your boyfriends or husbands might have trained here if they took the four year degree route. My boyfriend just recently left his instructing job to go fly for ASA. Otherwise, he'd still be here.

Last night, a plane went missing with an instructor and a student in it. I've met the instructor, and my friends all know her well. I'm really worried because every time something happens in aviation, it makes me worry about ALL the pilots I know. it could happen to any one of them at any time, but it's so easy to forget that.

Sorry, I'm venting....

Yes, that is scary and very sad. This job can be dangerous. Honestly, though if you dwell on it no good can come of that. I work in a hard core inner city school. You could say my job is dangerous. People drive to work all the time, that could be dangerous. I once heard a statistic on a radio station and they said that more people die in donkey accidents per year than plane accidents (world wide).

I am so sorry about your friend. I think that is so sad. Please update us on what happened.

We learned last night that the plane was found submerged in about 10 feet of water, with the tail exposed. It's been presumed that both pilots either died in the crash or drowned. Nobody really knows what happened yet. There's a chance that the bodies may not be in the plane and we may not ever know what happened.

I didn't know until last night that my boyfriend was friends with the instructor. I had to break the news to him, and it was horrible. He called today to say that he's trying to come back for the memorial service on Saturday, but he's on a six day right now, so the chances are slim.

This whole thing is just so sad and sickening right now. It's the second accident like this at our campus. Last year, two of our students were killed when they rented a plane in horrible weather and crashed in a neighboring town. They're just all so young....
