Default Confusion. Was there a vote taken?

Nope, sorry- not EVERYONE agreed to have the guys come to this forum. I don't recall a vote taken as I would have voted against that one. Isn't that what JetCareers is for? Infact the original "Respect for hubby" thread was NOT posted under the Ask the guys section at all.

I prefer Jetgirls to be just that Jetgirls- not Jetgirls and their overbearing, opinionated DH/SO's.

I tend to agree- and I don't feel like going Anonymous on this one either.

I know Kristie/Doug just wanted to try something different here on the board, so for that, I give a thumbs up , however...

I think we give good advice here as it is and for me personally, I don't think there isn't anything Earth shattering that I can get from them I can't get from Nick, his friends, or the many aviation boards that exist. And another thing- maybe it's me but it feels funny to be getting advice from SO's of women on the board. Perhaps I would have been more interested if it was some anonymous guy!

I haven't posted about my personal feelings on this since heck, it looks like some of the gals on the board like the section and if I'm not interested in posting there, I don't have to. I do check it out to see what's being discussed since I've been curious, and I've responded to posts there too.

If Jetgirls is a "girls only" clubhouse, I guess I'll stay at JetCareers (which, by the way, welcomes all and not just pilots). I understand the value of this place as a support forum, but I don't see any reason for such strictness.

ps - What is UP with all the anonymity? Is there something to be afraid of, here? I understand it in some cases, but it seems cowardly to be anonymous in an adult discussion.

FYI- I want to clarify...I don't think this section should be removed. Like I said, it's fine to have that section since obviously some enjoy it and enjoy reading the perspectives of Doug and Mark.

And I think it's anon b/c of what was mentioned (maybe by you, can't remember) on JC- people tend to not want to upset or offend one another. I believe it was called nicey-nice syndrome?

Well that's about what I was going to say. I never "voted yes" for it, I don't see a need for it, but I'm not going to fight against it if that's what other people want cause I can just not use it.

Aiyee! My post wasn't directed at you, just so you know. Hugs back.

But, being anonymous doesn't stop the words from coming, so there's still a chance of offending someone. Own up to what you [anonymo] think!

Yeah,, Im totally with Amanda on this one,, to me things were jsut fine without the "guys" section here,,, when I need a guys opinion,, I just ask Bill or my dad, or brother, or friends,,, I like the girls connection we get here, HOWEVER,,,since others seem to enjoy it,, that's totally fine by me!

The one thing that I do want to say though, is honestly, I wonder if it would encourage guys to be putting their opinions in on other forums, where the questions were not directed to the guys. It's not a BIG deal, but as I have said before, I often word my posts in a way that is directed at the intended audience, and based on the name of the site, it seems the intended audience is a female one, and I don't always WANT a guy's opinion or insight, sometimes I just want that "girlfriend" feeling. For the same reason that I would go to a girlfriend's house or have a girl's night out. It's not a big enough deal that I'm going to make a stink over it, but that is how I feel. I generally post on a site named jetGIRLS for the "girlfriend" feel. If that wasn't important, I'd post what I wanted to say on JC. Likewise, when I want a larger audience that includes a male perspective, I post on JC. Just don't really see the need to merge the two.

I agree. I have always enjoyed this site for what it is: Jetgirls. A place where I can go to get another woman's perspective, thoughts, and experiences on being a JETGIRL.

If others like the ask a guy forum then ok, but the guys should be responding to those questions in the ask a guy section only not the entire forum. I have read posts in that section, but I personally just ask my own guy questions if I have them.

I suppose to sum it up- I do enjoy Jetgirls very much, I am just torn with all of the drama lately and the addition of the guys.
